Our family of 4, with two boys aged 11 and 13, thoroughly enjoyed our sea kayaking trip of the Broken Group Islands with Batstar. Every aspect of the trip was a great experience - from the initial booking call with Blake to being dropped off at the rental car location in town. Blake, Rhonda and their daughters happily catered to us while at their home the days before and after the actual trip. They even let us do our laundry! Jeff and Chelsea were attentive and energetic guides who went beyond the call of duty to give us the best experience possible. The equipment, which was all provided, was high quality, and although one kayak had a problem early in the trip it didn't slow us down. Finally, the food. I can honestly say we have never eaten so well and so healthily on a camping trip. Every meal and snack was delicious and there was always enough. We can highly recommend Batstar and wouldn't hesitate to do another adventure with them in the future.

Had an amazing week sea kayaking. Everything was first class. Our two Guides Laurel and Chealse were outstanding! Their expertise and knowledge of the area was greatly appreciated by all. The meals were fantastic! Our group of 8 (age 49 to 59) thoroughly enjoyed camping out and our daily adventures from Dodds island. Highly recommend Batstar

Kayaking the Broken Islands with Batstar was one of my best experiences EVER! Equipment was top notch from camping gear to Kayaks and paddles. I could not have gotten better Guides (Laurel and Chelsea)!!!, They are extremely knowledeable about kayaking, the Broken Islands and are also very nice people. They were also great cooks. The food was exceptional all week long. Thank you Blake and team. This trip will go down as one of my greatest holidays ever!

Thank you to Blake, Rhonda and Jeff (our guide) for a wonderful kayak trip in the Broken Islands. I went on this trip with my eighteen year old son, he also loved the experience. Blake was extremely helpful answering my questions on a number of occassions leading up to the trip. We stayed at his home in a basement suite which was very comfortable and clean. Batstar runs a first class business with first class guides. Following are some of the big pluses from our trip with Batstar:
- First class people. Blake, Rhonda and Jeff (our guide) are wonderful people with great knowledge and a passion for what they are doing.

- First class equipment. Kayaks are superb, carbon paddles, fantastic tents, North Face sleeping bags.

- Food was excellent especially given that Jeff (our guide) prepared all food in a "camping" environment. We had several people visiting the campsite who were quite jealous of the food we had prepared for us. The sushi was superb! Fresh fruits were also great given we were camping.

- Our guide was up and going at 6am every morning to ensure that we had coffee and breakfast first thing in the morning. He packed/un-packed the kayaks daily, prepared food, and cleaned up.

- Jeff was also excellent guiding us through and around the Broken Group Islands. We had one day of rain/wind which presented some challenging conditions that Jeff took in stride and handled great. Some of us had never kayaked before but Jeff had us moving confidently regardless of water conditions. He also had a great sense of humour which added to the fun...thanks Jeff!

For sure you should be comfortable with camping and doing a little helping out in order to enjoy this trip. To load the kayaks the first and last day everyone needs to help out since there is a lot of equipment and it just makes sense. We have done a lot of backpacking so this wasn't a problem for us.

Overall both my son and I were completely satisfied with our trip. Thank you Blake, Rhonda and Jeff!

We chose to go kayaking on our honeymoon and Batstar made it a wonderful trip. When the original plans fell through last minute on their end they called us immediately, apologized for the change and offered us alternatives. They went out of their way to make the change up to us - and it was much appreciated. We did the Clayquot sound trip instead of the Broken group and it was stunning. While they can't guarantee the weather - they certainly guarantee the food and we were amazed at the meals they cooked!! Our guide was well trained and enthusiastic, we felt safe, and well looked after with good gear and a good overview before departure of what we should bring to make the trip fun and comfortable. I would highy recommend them - and not just for the food - but we were most impressed with their commitment to no trace camping - they are dedicated to the being stewards of the environment as much as guides and it showed!
