This was certainly a nice surprise. We came here on June 15 for an early dinner. Me, my wife and my two daughters (7 and 4 years old). We didn't know what to expect at first but surprisingly there was some other kids in the restaurant even though it wasn't full. We had a special that I suspect is a permanent deal: 1 Appetizer and 2 entrees for $25 or $30 depending on the selection. We went for the $30 one which was salt and pepper dry ribs for the appetizer and a West Coast spicy shrimp bowl (bowl with rice and veggies; like peppers, broccoli, peas, water chestnuts, carrot and mushrooms in a spicy sauce) really nice option. Kids meal were $2.99 each.
We had beer on tap which was Granville Island selection and kids had chocolate milk.
Service was ok but nothing outstanding. Pretty casual actually. Ended up being inexpensive (you have to consider the kid's meals were $6.00 for both).
Not many people (well actually there were like 6 tables in total....) but acceptable.

I would say this is a 3.5 smile restaurante :) :) :) :

This was our first visit to Chad's. We'd been to Applebee's that was at that location previously but this is much better! My husband had the Pad Thai that he said was great and I had the baby back ribs and they were awesome! They fell off the bone. Both dishes were large portions.
We'll definitely be back!

We used to visit Applebee's regularly til the food and service went downhill. We haven't been back to that location since it became Chad's. Through email and Facebook, we've received a number of offers, so this weekend we decided to give it a try. The restaurant wasn't too busy, but service was initially a bit slow (picked up a bit as more than one server attended to our table), and we had to ask for utensils. The menu was extensive with quite a variety of food choices/categories. The description of my meal was a little more impressive than the actual food - I found it a bit over-powering, and too big of a portion. The coffee tasted a bit old. My husband was quite satisfied with his steak. We didn't have any alcoholic beverages, but looking at the menu, they have quite a selection and good prices, especially for wines. Overall, a decent dinner/experience. We'll go back, but it won't become one of our "regular" dining spots.

We had Nachos, Chicken Wings(Spicy) and Calomarie. It was okay, nothing to brag about.

Place was dead, only us and a other table for a while before 3 or 4 more tables came during dinner time.

Good place to eat if you want privacy.

We were anxious to try the replacement for Applebees having heard that Chad was taking over. We love Applebees so it was hard to imagine another restaurant taking its spot.
Chad doesnt cut it. Maybe they need to work out a few kinks and we will try it again in a few months.

It took a long time to get our drinks and place our order even though it wasnt at all busy. We finally got our drinks and ordered an appy and 2 entrees. Another long wait and finally our appy arrived. We had just started eating it and our entrees came. No time to finish the appy. Entrees were nothing special and nothing I would order again.
We ordered dessert which was made in house. Only problem was they took it straight from the freezer to our table. We had to ask for a steak knife to cut a piece off to eat. The manager happened to walk by while we were struggling with our frozen dessert and offered no help at all. If thats Chad, thats bad.
