Recently spent 2 nights at this motel in the Boulder View Room and we just loved it! Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate so we didn't get to spend much time on the balcony but were very pleased with the room and the view anyway. Clean and comfortable and the waffles at breakfast were great. Everyone was so friendly, guests and staff alike. I'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The Mackenzie View Room and Boulder View Room have balconies. Very nice for a couple.

As we were delayed by Highway 1 being closed and having to take a LONG detour which meant arriving at 3am we cannot speak highly enough about the staff who were happy to hold our room and arrange for us to gain access even at that late hour.

Room Tip: It nay be rather close to the main trainline for light sleepers

We recently stayed at the Swiss Chalet Motel on our way to Alberta, and liked it enough to stay there again on the way back. The first room (#109) was a single Queen with shower, not glamorous but good basic accommodation at about half the cost of some of the more upscale alternatives in Revelstoke. We found it particularly good value when factoring in the cost of a breakfast. The second room (#116), a double Queen, was a lot larger as you'd expect, and the additional space in the room, (and bed), and bathroom was enjoyable - at a bit higher cost. I am often bothered by noise but didn't have any problems with either of the rooms, although early one evening we were briefly entertained by someone next door complaining loudly about their mother in law's driving. Other than that, it was very quiet. I don't think there is much train activity at night. If you are interested in trains, you may enjoy walking a block down and across the street to watch the activity in the rail yard in the early evening. There is also a nice walkway beside the river, starting from near the aquatic center if you can find it on the map. The aquatic ctr looks attractive too, although we didn't go in. The motel provides each room with a helpful binder listing local restaurants etc. We use Wi-Fi rather than TV for evening entertainment and were pleased with the responsiveness, better than other places where it bogged down as everyone hopped on to check their email etc. Revelstoke is a fairly long day's driving from the coast and we were glad we stopped there and were fresh the next morning to enjoy driving into the spectacular mountain scenery rather than pushing to add more miles.

We stayed here a year ago and were impressed by the comfort, cleanliness and a breakfast that included fresh waffles. Our return visit this year was just as good. The only negative thing is that the breakfast is served a little late for someone who wants to `get on the road early`.

Good, tidy room and facilities including wifi. If you love trains, it is a great place to stay. Didn't notice trains during night. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay again when passing through.

I have stayed here before and I had no hesitation in staying here again as I was back in Revelstoke. I booked a standard queen room on the groundfloor, and I would describe the room as very clean, comfortable and compact. But as there was only me, this was not a problem. If you are a couple, you may want to book a bigger room. The room had a fridge, and the bathroom had only a shower, no tub. Continental breakfast was included, and there was a good selection, and they use real crockery and cutlery (not the plastic stuff in many big hotels). There is no restaurant , but a 10 minute stroll to downtown and a good selection of places to eat. You can also get a free pass to the aquatic centre in downtown area. Yes, another very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: The motel is on a main street, and next to the railway tracks. There are frequent cargo trains, but...

We stayed at Swiss Chalet twice on our recent trip to the coast, and we were very happy. The second time we used the free swim coupon for the rec centre and the hotel even gave us towels! The staff are really friendly here, I think they would do anything for us! The beds are comfortable, although we will bring our own pillows next time because we like firmer pillows. The TV is excellent, it's a newer TV with tons of channels. We really appreciated the free wifi, and the fridge. Location is great, but it is right across the street from the railroad tracks. We were never bothered by trains in the night though. We stayed in 120 and 108, both are spacious queen rooms. There is a lot of floor space, you could fit four adults with ski gear and not be cramped.
