We stopped off on route to Banff with Moose travel. From the outset the experience was amazing. Terry and his wife brought us out onto the lake and not only explained the basics of kayaking but shared some wonderful insights and historical facts about the region. I must say the energy and positive aura from Terry and Wenche is contagious, very diligent and enthusiastic from start to finish. They even went to the trouble of cooking home made granola bars!!! Very impressive.

Well worth a visit! 100%

Regards, Liam from Ireland.

We stopped off for a kayak with Natural Escapes in Revelstoke as part of Moose tour in Canada.

The setting is beautiful and Terry and the team are a great bunch. 95% of the kayaks are handmade (if you are a beginner you can have a factory made one with a rudder) which is a unique selling point. If you haven't been kayaking before that is not a probably as you get an intro lesson on land before you hit the water.

We had a tour around the lake and the team take lots of pictures which you can then check out on the website and download for free, which is a nice touch as a lot of companies will charge you for pictures when you do certain activities.

We had a little bit of drama which consisted of a storm appearing out of nowhere and heading our way. This was not a problem and the experience of Terry and the crew to make sure we all got back safe whilst still enjoying our time out on the lake really showed.

Once we were safe onshore we were handed some handmade flapjacks (this made it a 5 star review!)

I would happily recommend Natural Escapes to anyone that would like to take a leisurely paddle around a beautiful lake. If you are looking for hardcore kayaking, this probably isn't for you.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know what you thought of your time spent with us. We really enjoy taking the photos and helping you remember your kayaking experience with us. Your memory of the storm that blew in during our tour is important to us and your safety is paramount to us. Thanks again.

We booked a tour with Terry through Everything Revelstoke (the local travel association in Revelstoke, BC) with a very good recommendation from Richard at ER. Richard`s a great guy too BTW.
I had been wanting my gf Tracy to try out flatwater (no rapids) kayaking for the last 3-4 years without much success. She was loaded with trepidation and fear but finally gave in and agreed. I had previous experience (but not much) with kayak rentals and enjoyed past excursions.
We met Terry south of Revy on a sunny Wednesday afternoon and were greeted by a very genuine and enthusiastic man (whom we would later become friends with). He showed us his handmade boats on his trailer, selected our equipment and very importantly gave us a dryland lesson before venturing out on the water. This immediately helped put Tracy at ease as she felt Terry was putting us first (which he was). We ventured out in a beautiful and well maintained double kayak onto the beautiful Columbia River which joins with Arrow Lake. The surroundings and water were amazing as well as the quality of guidance that Terry gave us. 2 hours flew by as we got a look at both sides of the lake and surrounding mountain ranges. Truly an enjoyable experience and one that we will never forget.
As a result of the very good first experience, Tracy decided she would like to go out again with Terry later in the week, which we did. We went out onto Lake Revelstoke that is north of town and had another amazing paddle to see a beautiful waterfall and enjoy a breezy, yet, warm and sunny Sunday morning.
If you are considering a flatwater kayak adventure but are new or inexperienced, then I would HIGHLY recommend Terry as your guide. He has top notch equipment that is maintained, he is safety conscious, very personable and charges a fair price for the quality of experience that you receive.
**ps: Terry takes photos of your trip for free so you do not need to risk taking your camera out on the water. All you need to do is enjoy the trip. He posts his pics on the website for you to view. Very nice touch.

Thanks very much for your feedback. I had a great time paddling with you. It is always satisfying to see how people that are hesitant to try kayaking get over their initial fear and then grow to enjoy and love the experience. I hope you will continue to paddle and enjoy the freedom and beautiful views that kayaking offers. Terry
