Stayed for one night enroute to Vancouver and loved Revelstoke as a town, it's unpretentious and friendly, more than can be said for this hotel!

As an overnighter this hotel is adequete but overpriced. The lobby is quite impressive however the desk staff are lacklustre and disinterested. Our room, which was classed a 'suite' was in fact a large room with a bath in one corner and a small balcony. The room decor was very dated with a peculiar stucco ceiling and nylon bedspread - probably great in 1985 but looking very tired now.

There's not a great choice of lodging in the town but I feel sure better value could be had elsewhere.

The room: We upgraded our booked standard room to a Jacuzzi suite with a balcony on the mountain view side. The reason: we wanted a balcony on the backside (mountain view side) of the hotel, and the Jacuzzi suite was the only available room. The room is really large, with a Jacuzzi (…thats why it's called a... ;-) ) a fine shower, a private balcony, and a convenient couple of chairs. We think it is (only) worth the money if you stay two or three days at Revelstoke. Especially when the weather isn’t very well and you are going to stay some of the time at the hotel to relax. If not: take the normal or comfort room because it is pricy.
The room is clean, the beds are okay, so is the shower and the Jacuzzi and there is a free internet connection available.

Surroundings: The hotel has a relatively small but well maintained garden. At the backside of the hotel most of the rooms have a nice view over Revelstoke en some mountains. There is a nice lobby. We did not use the restaurant (we went for breakfast/dinner to the village) but some locals we spoke with were positive about the restaurant.

Location: The hotel is closely located at Highway one, but we didn’t hear the highway on the backside of the hotel. The centre of Revelstoke takes you about 5 (car) minutes to reach. You can’t walk it.

Owners/personnel: The persons we spoke were kind and gentle.

Conclusion: We will go back here, mainly because of the location (Not in the middle of the village but just outside it) and when you compare it to other hotels in Revelstoke it's is the best choice you can make.

(we hope that our English is acceptable... if not sorry :-) )

This hotel was okay but some things to note. No internet was available while we were there. They obviously have some issues with that. Window was very small. We had 2 dbl beds and a couch. TV had to be cranked to hear it as it was on the other side of the room. The room seemed to have a lot of wasted space. Front desk not overly friendly. I guess I just expected a little more for my money.

Originally I was quite reluctant to have a stopover in Revelstoke since most of the hotels I found were not rated highly. However, I finally stumbled across the Coast Hillcrest. I tried to book it and it was completely full. I guess there is a reason for this. However, I finally was able to book a room with another site that had blocked off space in advance. The hotel itself is not going to wow anyone who is comparing it to a 4 or 5 star hotel in a major city. But if you are comparing it with similar hotels and especially to other hotels in Revelstoke, I think the Hillcrest would rate highly. The hotel itself is clean and well-cared for. The room was clean, spacious and now have complimentary wireless internet. However, the connection was weak and cut out alot. Saw another guest sitting out in the front of the hotel using her laptop, she must've had the same problem. The restuarant in the hotel is definitely a surprise. The service and food were very good. Didn't expect it here. Overall, this is the place to stay in Revelstoke.

Lots of folks have talked about how nice a hotel this is and the scenic valley views, and it's all true. The hotel was clean, efficient and staffed by people who knew they were in the hospitality business.

What isn't mentioned a lot is how good the restaurant is in the hotel. We got in a bit late and rather than try to find anything in town, we went to the dining room and were treated to a wonderful dinner. This restaurant would not be out of place in any major city with a nice grill/continental menu and a pretty extensive wine list. Not sure how they got all this to happen in Revelstoke but we're glad they did.

We stayed here during our journey across Canada. The hotel was easy to find and we didnt have to drive through the city to get to it which was nice. We chose it b/c it was pet-friendly and it didnt dissappoint us. There were nice areas for our dogs to play. The only small drawback (with pets and lots of luggage) was that we had no door from our room to the outside - we had to go through the lobby. The employees were very nice, the hotel room was clean and modern. The in-house restaurant served a great steak but lacked in the pasta dish. It had a gorgeous view off the mountains from the hotel/restaurant deck & some of the rooms. Very peaceful location althougn I wish we could of had one of the rooms with a view, we were located on the parking lot side (probably b/c we had dogs). I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.

At the top of the small town of Revelstoke this hotel is located in between the beautifull trees.

We really enjoyed staying the night here. Nice room, good shower. We didn't eat in or had breakfast here. Just a few minutes drive to town, which is a bit of a sleepy little town.

Good location to spend the night when you're travelling from the okanagan valley to the Rockies.
