We were overnighting in Revelstoke and discovered that, on main street, there are many interesting and appealing restaurants. However, we saw Benoit's Wine Bar situated about a half a block off the main street and decide to "drop in" for a glass of wine before going somewhere for dinner ($9 - $10/glass so a bit more than we usually like to pay but...!). First of all, I like anything with a European flavour and the pictures/decor were from or about France- my favourite country to visit- so we were immediately attracted. As it was late afternoon, the wine bar was not busy and we had a wonderful visit with Benoit himself! We decided to have a little "tapas" which was delicious and satisfied us enough to skip supper. We sat up at the bar even though there was a new patio at the back- I'm a bar stool guy, I guess. The surrounding table tops were all milled locally and we were lucky enough to meet the man who did that- right at the bar, of course!! Drop in for something a little different. After all, how can you go wrong with a guy from France who marries a gal from Saskatchewan!
