“A real gem!”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

Shawn and Young Seon are terrific hosts: friendly, welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. We only stayed one night, and were sorry to leave so soon. We stayed in ground-floor room Nefertari, whose bed was gloriously huge and comfortable. Two windows provide plenty of natural light, and a reflective coating on the outside of the window means you can enjoy that daylight without sacrificing privacy. Limited check-in hours, and a minimum age of 13 for guests, means that there's not a constant hum of activity in the lobby, so you're sure of peace and quiet for sleeping.

The care taken in decorating the bedroom in Nefertari didn't carry through into the bathroom, which still has grab bars and an elevated toilet for the mobility impaired, from the Inn's previous incarnation as a care home. Everything worked just fine, though, and it was perfectly clean.

There were dresser drawers to unpack into, but for guests staying just one night, a luggage rack would have been welcome. That's one tiny suggestion for an otherwise excellent place!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at Courthouse Inn Revelstoke.
It was our pleasure to host and meet you both. The Luggage rack was a great suggestion for all our guests and we are pleased to let you know that now all our guest rooms have luggage racks. We are always working on improving our inn for guest's comfort and their memorable stay.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our inn.

Wonderful B&B with fabulous 5 star breakfasts, Korean pancakes are delicious but then so is everything else including the freshly made cookies in the guest lounge. Agree with all the other reviews that this little gem shines above others not only for food, cleanliness and beautiful rooms but Shawn and his wife were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. If you are going through or indeed lucky enough to have the chance to stay in Revelstoke this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Marie Antoinette and The Courthouse are deemed to be the best.

This is a true gem of a B&B in a real character building in Revelstoke. The owners Shawn and Young Seon go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and can provide all the advice you need. The breakfasts are unique with a dessert! Try the Korean pancake! Before you leave visit the Courthouse over the road. We filled a day walking in Revelstoke and the surrounds, a very interesting place.

We stayed three nights in the Revelstoke Courthouse Inn and thoroughly enjoyed it. We chose "The Station" room but peeked into most of the other rooms, you can't go wrong in any of them. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable room. What makes this B&B superior is the excellent breakfasts. Host Shawn and Young Seon are excellent chefs. Each evening you choose from a menu of options for breakfasts, which they serve in fine dining style. Lattes and Cappuccinos are just some of the options for coffee drinkers, for example, along with fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits. Be sure to stay several nights so you can enjoy several choices, including Korean pancake and egg dishes. Very tasty desserts for breakfast, including ice cream! A Revelstoke native, Shawn is a wealth of great suggestions for activities and restaurants, come rain or shine. Don't listen to the weather forecasts; listen to Shawn! The common room is very spacious and offers wonderful opportunity for conversation with other guests, who come from all over the world. You are welcome to bring your other meals to the dining room, where coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, along with homemade cookies, are always available. The inn is in a very quiet residential, yet within walking distance to town, as well as to a wonderful bird-watching walking path along the Columbia River. Even though the day started out rainy, at Shawn's recommendation, we drove to Mt Revelstoke in Revelstoke National Park. The day cleared as he predicted, allowing several hours of hiking at the summit, including the Meadows in the Sky trail and shorter trails around Heather Lake and the Firetower. Take some time to visit the Train Museum in town for a great overview of the history of the area. Several people recommended the Baguette Bakery. We enjoyed their bread and gelatto, which we brought back and stored in the guest refrigerator at the Inn.

Room Tip: All choices are good.

We were really just passing through Revelstoke en route to Lake Okanagan from the Rockies and had just booked one night here. As it turned out this B&B was such a pleasant surprise as was Revelstoke. The B&B is run by Shawn and Young Seon who were so friendly and service-minded from the minute we met them. They clearly enjoyed answering questions and helping us get the most out of our stay in the area. The room was perfect - nicely decorated, large and clean, and the breakfast was fabulous and healthy. Plenty of parking places and a quiet location.

In addition Revelstoke is a really pleasant surprise with some good restaurants (we can recommend having some fantastic sushi at Kawakubo) and cafes and a cozy atmosphere. In the morning we went to see Mt Revelstoke National Park, which was also a really good (and fairly uncrowded) experience.

We can only agree with the other reviewers that this B&B is excellent. Next time we will stay longer.

The Courhouse Inn is a purpose built bed and breakfast that had been changed to a care facility but, thanks to our wonderful hosts Shawn and Young Seon, is now back to a fabulous bed and breakfast. All rooms are very spacious with lovely decor and have an ensuite bath. It was very quiet and we all slept very well.
It has a huge common/living/dining area where tea, coffee, hot chocolate and home made cookies are freely available. There is also a computer for guests to use, a piano and lots of games/activities to borrow.
For breakfast there was a menu to fill out, but they were flexible with friends we were travelling with who just wanted bacon and poached eggs. I had the absolutely incredible cheese souffle!!! and my partner had the breakfast wrap that he raved about. While Shawn may not be a trained chef, he has a master touch when it comes to the kitchen! Food plates were warm when they should be warm and cold when they should be cold...an lovely touch and often missed by the finest of restaurants. For breakfast we even had dessert...I don't know what it was called, but it was delicious...a warm blueberry 'something' with a touch of whipped cream.
The price could be considered a little on the high side, but with that gourmet breakfast, it was well, well worth it.

Room Tip: Don't think you could pick a bad room here!

We stayed in this beautifully decorated bed and breakfast inn for one night going to, and one night returning from, a vacation trip to Kelowna. Both guest rooms were great --- my husband especially liked the train decor in the Station room --- and we loved both choosing our breakfast menu and the amazing presentation and taste of the meal courses! Hosts Shawn and Young Seon were so friendly and helpful, taking time in their busy days to chat with us. (We really appreciated their recommendation of the Giant Cedars Boardwalk, just east of Revelstoke, on our highway route home, a tranquil short walk that we found breathtaking). All in all, a wonderful experience and we hope to return to the Courthouse Inn asap!

Room Tip: All rooms are terrific and offer options according to price, main or second floor, room design, etc...
