“Comfortable, Clean but Close to the train”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013

We really enjoyed the comfort of the room. It was clean, the beds were well made and the abundance of pillows and comfortable mattress was a relief. Our coffee maker was busted and we didn't receive a replacement before it was time to check out, which isn't a huge deal, but an inconvenience none the less. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the morning, too. It was mid crammed, though, and we were lucky to have a seat to enjoy our breakfast. If you stay here, make sure you go early to the buffet so that you're not disappointed. The staff were very kind. The hotel was generally satisfactorily clean. One big minus for us was that the lady at the front desk failed to warn us of our proximity to the train tracks. Our room was literally right in front of the tracks and when we looked out we could watch the train pass. We learned that the hard way when a train came through very early and woke us all up.

Room Tip: Make sure your room doesn't back onto the train tracks

It's a small town and this hotel don't work hard to respect the standard off are your expect at the price asked. The worst thing I don't like about this hotel is cleanliness. The room need paint and reparation on wall, the floor was dirty. No kleenex., no hand paper towell and don't change kitchen towell. We sleep few night at the Best Western and if you can pay more go there, really it.s not in the same league and if not your advice is not so quiet, poor breakfest and not so clean. But this hotel have potentiel, have good location, not too old but at this time i can recommend.

Been staying at this hotel every sledding season for 18 years and have endured 5 different owners. Always been excellent until jan/13 when these new owners took over. No appreciation for sledders obviously. Decline in cleanliness, hot tub full of foam and unusable. Parking is a joke. Time to look for a new place!

We stayed at this hotel on the way from BC to AB for a move to AB on New Year's Eve. The hotel rented the room beside us to at least 4 early twenties-something year-olds. Right from when the checked in at 6:30 PM it was clear that they were there to PARTY as the drinking and whooping it up started right away. Luckily, they went out into town at about 10pm, but they came back after 3am intoxicated, yelling and drinking more in the room. This continued until 4:14am when I called the desk clerk who said he'd rec'd other complaints about these people and was trying to get them to be quiet. Well good luck with that as it continued until 5:15am when we checked out having had enough!!! Look, I know it was New Years Eve and I could tolerate the noise until 1 or 2am, but come on until 5am get real!

Room Tip: Don't go here if you want a quiet night's sleep and if you complain about a noisy guest they...

I would never stay here again! Upon arrival (which was at 430) check in time is at 4... which is written on the website and on a board in the lobby, we were told we would not be able to get into our hotel room until 5. This was a huge disappoint seeings how we had traveled all day and wanted to rest. The receptionist- a young brunette girl, was very unsympathetic about the whole thing it made me sick. Working in retail my whole life you expect the kindness you give to others- ESPECIALLY when you are the customer! not the employee! When we finally got into the hotel room i thought we would be getting a little more for 120 dollars. The room looked kind of thrown together and the carpets were not vacuumed. We were placed right beside the utility room which was very noisy. To top it all off from about 10 at night until 5 in the morning there was a group of people partying outside their hotel rooms about 10 doors down. The thing that got me about this all is the night shift worker was partying and talking to these people all the while. The worst hotel I have ever been to. I will never go there again.
