I knew this motel was on Highway 1, so I requested a groundfloor quiet room. So why was I given the room closest to the busy intersection on a steep hill, where the truckers had to change gear as they approach the traffic lights? You can imagine what that sounds like in the middle of the night! When I arrived, I realised the problem and asked to be moved to a room on the other side of the building. I was told all these rooms were occupied. Later I spoke to other guests who had just called in, after I had arrived and had been given rooms on the other side. I made my booking about 3 months ago.
The room itself was quite good - good sized, very clean & smart, with fridge & coffee maker. A free continental breakfast is included and served in the lobby, which is rather small, with not many seats. The motel is situated in a service area, with fuel garage & othe restaurants, including a pub which has good meals. Downtown is about 5 minutes drive. On my last morning, I asked to see the manager, but he was not available! so I made my complaints verbally to the receptionist and in writing to Super 8. But that was a month ago and I have never had a reply.More
