We had a delicious dinner here so we went back to check out the lunch menu. Both meals were excellent. I can't think of anything that was not first class...from the wait staff to the wine and beer menu.
We''ll definitely be back

A fine dining restaurant is welcome indeed in the Sidney area. You could walk here from Sidney but it would take about 30 minutes. Otherwise taxi, bike or car. The view of the marina is great and the decor very west coast. However, the kitchen has some growing pains. The dishes are nicely done but there are some misses. Two of us ordered fish and both were overcooked. Also the focaccia was highly recommended but when it arrived as the bread course it was a bit stale and had clearly been cut some hours ago. A very tasty dish is the beef short ribs. Perhaps not what you would order at a sea view restaurant but cooked to perfection. However the plate came completely overloaded with a giant portion of rice\vegies that spoiled the dish and was a bit intimidating. It looked slopped on not presented nicely. Desserts were excellent. One warning, because of the decor it can be a bit noisy when full so if there are any elderly people in the party they could have trouble hearing as my godmother did.

The service was pretty good though our server was a bit in love with himself and should have been more neatly dressed. Okay for a casual eatery but he needed a wardrobe consult.

Oddly, we went for lunch and had a so-so experience causing us to be a bit apprehensive about our dinner reservation. We should not have worried - it was excellent all round. The view is delightful, the atmosphere cosy and the service first rate. There were four of us, Friday night and it was very busy. If there is a knock against the place it would be the noise level. At times it's hard to hear yourself speak. The menu is fairly limited but covers all the bases of fish, beef, pork and chicken. I went with the salmon. It was served atop a rice cake with an interesting drizzle, a touch of crisp salad and nicely done vegetables. The salmon was cooked to my preference of medium, not too dry, just right. The chef clearly has a thing for presentation. He likes the stacked approach. The waitress has to be well balanced and you find yourself reluctant to knock down his work of art. All four of us were happy with our selections. Entrees go between $20 and $25. Depending on starters and desserts and your drink choices I would expect around $40 to $50 a head for the bill with taxes and tip. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Give it a try.

My wife and i were scouring the internet looking for a restaurant with a view. Unfortunately, the one we were looking at was closed. Fortunately, we found Sea Glass. From the greeter to the server to the food to the view i would say it was one of the best dining experiences we have encountered. I would suggest it anytime to my best friend or my worst enemy. Thank you!!!

Because of the setting and designation as "west coast contemporary", we expected a pricey menu. Absolutely not! A huge bacon cheeseburger on a pretzel bun with a side of either caesar salad, green salad, 2 different soups or fries is $12. I think the entire lunch menu is in the $10-14 range. Our friends were delighted with their lobster and crab rolls, which were also much larger than expected. The desserts change frequently, so aren't listed on the menu. We sampled three of them and oohed and ahhed while we ate. A sleeve of local beer is only $5 - a better price than a lot of pubs! The service was terrific: friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. All-in-all, a great experience, and we will definitely return!
