The booking process was difficult as our initial requests for booking (several of them -- sent directly to the Inn) went unanswered. It was difficult to find as signage on the roads leading to it is minimal and it is tucked away behind a much larger facility. The reception desk is not at the entrance where it would be more welcoming, rather it is tucked away downstairs in the restaurant. The drapes in our room were impossible to draw closed at night as they had not been hung on the rod properly -- meaning that we had to climb on a chair and adjust the drapes, rings and hooks so that they would close. There was a pervasive odor of old fish in the entire facility. The hall way was lined with chairs and clutter and what looked like furniture that the owners didn't know where to store. There is a lovely, light-filled room to the right of the main entrance to the floor that has the bedrooms on it that would make a lovely and welcoming reception area and lounge but it looks like the family that owns the property has been using it as a children's play room/storeroom with furniture draped in sheets and children's toys scattered about. There were rooms down the hall with the doors open so I took a look in to see what else they had to offer. The beds in these rooms were stripped and the rooms were not ready for guests, including the vacuum cleaner sitting in the middle of the room. They were that way when we got there and that way when we checked out. The flower beds in the front (along the parking area) had not been weeded in quite some time and the front entrance had not been swept recently with definite dust under the table on the landing with foot prints evident in the dust. On speaking to the owner it seems that he is hoping to sell the property. There is so much potential in this lovely old building. I hope that they can find an experienced inn-keeper to take it over and lavish lots of TLC on the property.
