we visited 3 times in 3 days while on Vancouver Island, even though we were based in Victoria,...well worth the 25 min drive to Sidney...for sightseeing and the markets as well as for Salty`s fish and chips. The Halibut was delicious, really well-cooked with very light batter and we chose the clam chowder instead of chips.. twice... as it was irresistable, but tried the chips on our last (lunch) visit and they were yummy too.Staff were friendly and chatty and very accommodating and the place had a pleasant ambience. Cost was around $30 for 2, which represents good value in our books. We also tried British Style Fish and Chips in Victoria, but it was nowhere near as good as Salty`s in Sidney.
