When entering the park the amount of parking space is limited on a busy day but worth the effort due to impressive falls and a nice viewing area

“Beautiful waterfall in a spacious provincial park!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

The Lower Mainland is blessed with many beautiful provincial parks, and Shannon Falls Provincial Park is one of them.

Located along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, Shannon Falls Provincial Park is easily accessible with your vehicle. It is about a 1 to 1.5 hour drive from Vancouver - you can make this an additional attraction to and from Whistler.

My wife and I visited Shannon Falls in July of 2012. The weather was great and the scene was captivating. Shannon Falls is not nearly as spectacular as Bridal Falls (which I highly recommend), but it is a lot easier to get to after you park than Bridal Falls.

The provincial park also offers multiple trails for those who enjoy hiking. Because we were on a very limited time schedule, we did not take advantage of that.

Near the entrance of the trails are large empty areas that can be used for picnics. We even saw a few camps set up.

Overall, Shannon Falls Provincial Park offers choices for a get-away, whether you only have a few hours on hand, or a full weekend to spend!

“Couldn't get there”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

Without a wheel chair it is impossible for disabled travelers to get to the falls. I tried with my wife, but the walk from the parking lot, uphill was just too far and too much for her. Though the pathway is paved most of the way, it would be a tough push even if we had a chair. We could see the falls from the highway and they looked impressibe and inviting.

“Beautiful & tons of fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2012

We stopped at Shannon Falls on our way from Vancouver to Whistler and spent about 3 hours. We brought along a picnic and opted to eat close to the water instead of the picnic tables. We climbed out into the water, took lots of pictures and climbed about half way up the fall. When you get to the top viewing platform there's a path above the bench. If you watch closely for the path you can get about half way up then look for the blue rope and go even farther. When we climbed up that far it was magical, the sun shining brightly, the mist from the fall, and the roar of the water. It was a great experience!

There is great parking, it's well marked from the highway, and there are well kept restrooms and a small gift shop that has drinks and ice cream. A large part of the path is asphalt so you can use stroller/wheelchairs.
