We're the Travelin' Travel Agents from Consumers Travel World. This was a real surprise---we made no plans except to drive the Sea to Sky Highway. But we saw the turnoff for this and figured we'd take a break from the drive. WOW!!! What an amazing place. A very easy walk to a fabulous high rushing waterfall. Absolutely the best diversion!

Excellent little side trip on the way to Squamish and Whistler. Great view of the falls from the trail. Easy hike, with an even harder hike up to see the Chief if you're interested.

Shannon Falls are stunning; lots of water flowing in early July! You need less than hour to view the falls. There's easy paths to follow to the falls, a visitor's center, restrooms, and the Stawamus Chief strenuous trails close by with scenic overlooks of the area.

If you can rent a car from Vancouver, it's worth it to see this and to hike Stawamus Chief Peak. The waterfall is very beautiful and powerful. There are two vantage points. Plus you can walk up the side of it on the rocks to get closer.

On our way to Whistler a convenience-store clerk recommended that we check out Shannon Falls, and I am so glad we did! The "base park" is a great area for a picnic. We visited on a Sunday and there were many families relaxing and barbequing. The kids loved the chance to stretch their legs and use the bathroom, run around and pick bouquets of the little wildflowers in the grass. The waterfall is absolutely magnificent--you can see it from the park, but there is a short uphill walk to see it up close. It turns into a rushing mountain stream with mini waterfalls that looks like a computer screensaver or a calendar photo, it is so beautiful. People were climbing and wading in the stream trying to get a closer look at the falls, so we couldn't resist and dipped our feet in. It is ICE-COLD, but fun as long as you are careful not to slip on the rocks and fall in the water (in the case of which you'd probably get hypothermia if you don't have a dry change of clothes). Bring a camera and allow for at least a few hours if you're like me and love exploring streams, if not, your visit probably won't last longer than 1/2 hour.
