“peaceful view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

If you are a local you would know that this is one of the few places in town for fine dining. Rockwell's shut down and the Living Room was born under Chef Ryan Giesbrecht who was previously running the Copper House ages ago and has another establishment in Whistler. People are complaining about breakfast and lunch, well if you want it to be special, you have to come here for dinner, and the service is almost always great, they can get busy, since it is part of a hotel overlooking a spectacular view of a golf course. Check their menu online, they have something for everyone. They will not be resurrecting their sunday AYCE brunch buffet, since they care more for quality than quantity and I commend them for that.

“Mediocre food - Bad Service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

I have eaten here recently for both breakfast and lunch as family were staying at the hotel. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't good. The service was so bad that it probably wouldn't matter if the food was great, we wouldn't go back. We were treated as if we were an inconvenience and even basics were ignored (not bringing milk/cream for coffee or at least asking if it was needed). The food took forever to arrive and when it did it was just so-so.

“Thank Goodness...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

My wife and I have moved to Squamish last year from Vancouver. We have committed to try each and every restaurant in Squamish. We've been to The Living Room now four times. I have to admit that the first time was rather uninispired. The food seemed to be pub style and just not downright delicious. Maybe it was to do with our choices. The latter three visits have turned us around though. Scallops on fresh asparagus rissotto was fantastic and their stuffed roasted chicken on carmelized winter vegetables and pumpkin gnocchi is a thing of beauty! Truly skillful cooking and great presentation. We craved the chicken afterwards so much that we went back just for that again. And they do a great spaghetti and meatballs...
Prices are very competitive and the service has always been competent and friendly. We're very thankful to have a quality restaurant here in Squamish. We hope that they can keep a good market share to be able to stay a long time. To be fair, Squamish has some very good breakfast and lunch spots, but dinner can be lacking. There are some really good ethnic places for dinner but for just general good cooking, not so much. This spot is a great addition to the local dining scene. Glad to have you here...

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013 via mobile

Second time and another long wait for service and food.
Both times we came for a soccer tourney. Understaffed at dinner but waited an extremely long time for breakfast and a few ended up having to get it to go. Hopefully they can get it sorted for next year altho I doubt we will return for a third attempt.

“Best place to dine in Squamish”

Excellent food, great presentation and courteous staff. Chef Ryan is very creative with his menus, very appealing dishes and delicious food. Atmosphere is great, and most relaxing and fun lounge to enjoy with friends.
