We stayed here again. The pool is still under construction since the change over in the company so don't expect it to be done anytime soon!
Relieved the manager is no longer there from the last summer.
For families - great location for various activities nearby. Alice lake up the highway, Heritage Railway Museum is just a little drive behind the hotel, Shannon falls trail down the highway.
TIP: I kept overlapping my hotel card key next to my iPhone thus having to go down to the front desk to recode it so keep them separate!

Good points: excellent bed, lots of space, good desk & other furniture, black out blinds.

Bad points: 1) the lights - low (40 W or lower equivalent CFL's) lights. While we appreciated the need to conserve energy some respect for our habit of reading print media would have been nice.

2) the HEAT (should it be necessary to turn on the air conditioning in a mountain town in January, just to get the room to a comfortable 20 C/ 70F?). We turned the heat off and opened the window as we went out for dinner. It didn't help much. Hence the air con.

3) housekeeping - maybe it was an off day for housekeeping or maybe it was because the poor maid couldn't see what she was doing in the dim light BUT all horizontal surfaces in the room were dirty - sticky to the touch dirty. They offered to move us but we were 1/2 unpacked and I'd cleaned the place myself already.

Other things:

The pool and fun-looking water slide? Don't know about that - it was 'closed due to construction' and front desk said something about waiting for permits. How long has this hotel been open?

If you are going to use the kitchenette, you need to bring your own dishes. None are provided.

For a reasonably low price we found ourselves in a beautiful room in which everything except one light bulb worked, including BOTH Tvs. (The bulb was replaced immediately). Internet was free incl. a computer. Breakfast was free and so was a nice little gym. There was a pool but it was out of bounds for construction when we were there.

The service was mostly excellent too but the continental breakfast was a disappointment due to there being no dishes for the cereal! We were advised to "Just use a coffee cup!" but surely it would have been wiser for the staff to quickly shoot down to the shops to buy a dozen cheap dishes. What struck us as an excellent hotel and great value, allowed its overall impression to be spoilt by this small detail.

Room Tip: I don't think any of their rooms would have much of a view but if they are all as well appointed...

We were very pleased with our recent stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was spotless, new and spacious. Their pool was not in service when we were there, but it looked really nice (tall slide, etc..)I highly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: They have one 2 room suite which is great for families.

We have been at this hotel already 2 nights and 5 more to go. It's a new hotel and clean, but service and breakfast is terrible. First of all, they made us eat cereal from coffee cups because the ran out of bowls. It's ridiculous! Go and buy on Wal Mart across the street. Second, don't get very happy about included breakfast into the price of the room. You won't get eggs with sausages or bacon, or even oatmeal. Only pastries and toasts, cereal and yogurt. Oh yes, they run out of coffee all the time unless you ask to refill. I don't know why the lady that suppose to look after the food is not doing anything unless you tell.
I would not get back here again!!!

Three teammates and I traveled to Squamish for a curling bonspiel in late November. The room was booked by our teammate and former Squamish resident. After vowing never to stay in a Sandman again 18 years ago I was very apprehensive. I was pleasantly surprised when we pulled up to the Sandman Hotel & Suites; it was a very new and modern building. The lobby was very clean with a nice lounging area, the receptionist was very pleasant and our reservations were ready for us on arrival. We had two adjoining rooms that were nicely furnished and modern looking. Each room had a microwave, fridge and coffeemaker, the rooms and bathrooms were very clean and spacious, the beds were very comfortable with two sets of pillows, firm and soft. The breakfast was your basic continental breakfast and had everything we needed to start our day off. The hotel was very quiet, any concerns we had were handled promptly. The only thing we were looking forward to was the pool and hot tub but see this is coming soon. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again

This is our third stay and we are pleased with the welcome service and local knowledge of the staff. The rooms are very large and quiet as most are away from the highway. The pool looked inviting and hope it is open then next time we travel.
The booking includes breakfast and the selection from the self serve buffet has all you need. The same room has a nice seating area in front of a fireplace and TV so when breakfast is over it would make a nice get away if travelling with Kids.
Walmart , Home Depot, Tim Hortons, Wendy's within two blocks.
We have stayed there on way to Whistler get away when leaving Vancouver late.
This time we decided when ski season starts the Sandman will be our new place to stay as Whistler is only about 30 minutes away and the rates are great.
