“Unbelievably awesome!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2012

Stayed here for 5 nights , while I was in Trail for work recently. Gord came and picked me up at the airport, as the car rental counter was closed on Sunday when I arrived. He even drove me to my work the next morning! What service!!!

The B and B is in a beautiful setting along the river, with nicely manicured lawns and plenty of flowers. The room is very cozy, with a fireplace and very very high thread count sheets! I travel ALOT for work, and have never experienced such luxurious sheets!

You have a choice of breakfast items each days when you fill out your menu, I enjoyed blueberry pancakes, french toast, eggs, toast, yogurts, fruit throughout the week. Exceptional service!!

I cannot recommend Gord and Barb enough, they run a perfect bed and breakfast and Gord certainly can share many stories and interesting facts about the area!

I paid less than half than what the other main hotel in town charges, and enjoyed a private retreat with awesome breakfast the entire week!

They also have a hot tub under a covered patio that overlooks the river!

Spectacular!

Room Tip: There are 2 rooms, one has a fireplace!

The River's Edge is a newer construction and is just beautiful. The room I stayed in had a gas fireplace and en suite bathroom. Very clean and tastefully decorated.

The 2 rroms are separated by a kitchen area. The backyard leads to the river and has a hot tub for the guests. A welcome feature for a motorcyclist!

Breakfast was very good.

River's Edge is charming and gracious, with two tasteful and comfortable rooms. The gardens overlooking the Columbia River are exquisite. The price is very reasonable. Trail is a working man's town based around the huge lead/zinc smelter. The early workers were immigrants from Italy, whose little houses are across the river on the mountainside. The host helps you understand and appreciate the history, answering questions over the generous breakfast. There is a walking path along the river, and the B&B is within easy walking distance of the town center. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I had a great time at the Rivers Edge, which we stayed at while skiing at Red Mountain, about 7 miles away. The B&B is nice with views of the river, a hot tub and a kitchen in between the two rooms. It's only a few minutes walk to some decent restaurants across the bridge. The bed is very comfortable, and the hosts were great. It was much appreciated that Gordon also took us for a skiing tour at Red to show us the good spots. Breakfasts are bountiful and good. Trail is not a touristy town so expect affordable average restaurants and a constant view of the huge zinc smelter across the river.

If you visit Nelson, British Columbia, it's worth a side trip to stay at the beautiful River's Edge Bed and Breakfast. It's located in Trail, about 40 minutes south of Nelson and two hours north of Spokane, Washington. The hosts have done a fantastic job of landscaping their property which is on the Columbia River. You can sit out on the grounds and relax near the river's edge. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the hosts are quite gracious. We also had a very delicious and hearty breakfast. Our stay there was one of the highlights of our trip. Don't miss this gem when you're in Southern BC! Their website is (-).
