Rose Cottage is a comfortable, homey dwelling. The host and hostess are accomodating and engage guests in friendly conversation. The bedding is all home made by the hostess, who was busy quilting as we were playing cards in her living room. The rooms are large and all have en-suite baths. You can order what you would like for breakfast for the next morning. The price is right for this little gem in BC.

Room Tip: the room downstairs is cooler on hot days than the upstairs ones.

We have just returned from our third stay at Rose Cottage. The house is located on the outskirts of Valemount just off BC Hwy 5. This makes a great half-way point stop between Vancouver and Edmonton. Sylvia and Maurice are very gracious hosts. There are three rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. They are all very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are excellent, with a good range of cereals, eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast.

There are several restaurants in Valemount itself (just a two minute drive away). The Moose pub, Cariboo Grill, Pepe's Pizza, and Dduk Bae Kie Korean Restaurant are all good. Valemount Pines is a local 9 hole golf course and is a great way to relax after a long drive.

Room Tip: Book in advance. It gets booked up quickly.

the place stinks, was not very clean. the owners are rude and seems that they are preaching religion. really close to the highway and you hear lots of road noise. the place is not set up for visiting or watching tv. small set jammed in a corner couch and chair very far away so therefore volume has to be turned up so loud it is a annoyance to others.

We stayed here on the way to Jasper. Because it is located nice place to hike the trail around Mt. Robson. Room is cozy with 2 queen beds , a swing cradle and bath tab.
Sylvia and Maurice are kind.
We had a happy encounter with Susie and Wayne Donecz, Wayne is an iron sculptor in Vernon BC. Generous Susie gave me a baco wine from Summer Hill.
Maurice prayed before a breakfast for our safe trip.
Halleluiah.

So you finish your long drive at Valemount BC- population 700, which translates into nothing to do. Well why not watch TV in the living room/dining room with the other guests. Except the TV is so far away from the furniture (which is jammed against the walls about 20-30 feet from the set) the volume has to be turned up so high no one can hear any one. So you go into the bedroom to read and are greeted with no reading lights, one easy chair, and one, are you ready for this, card table folding chair, for the second guest. This place is a bust. No roses anywhere to be seen. Laughable!

Room Tip: Bring your own coalminers lamp for reading
