My wife and I stayed in late June before sailing to Newfoundland the next morning. We were very pleased with Cheryl's hospitality and the comfort her home provided. We paid $75 for a second floor room with a shared bath, but since we were the only guests that night, it was the same as an ensuite. The home is beautifully decorated with antiques and she has tons and tons of books to sample. Breakfast was fine. Wi-fi worked without a hitch. The house is just a few blocks from the ferry, too. We will be returning for another night after coming back from Newfoundland in a few weeks.

Cheryl was delightful and extremely friendly. We felt very much at home so we stayed on our way to Newfoundland and when we returned. She is just a few minutes from the Ferry. We were so glad that we booked with her on our return trip since the ferry was delayed due to bad weather.
We loved our room located on the main floor. The bed was very comfortable and the room was decorated in antiques. She had a lovely back porch overlooking her gardens that was peaceful.
Cheryl recommended two restaurants that we tried and both were great.
We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in North Sydney if we went back. She made us feel right at home.
Her breakfast was amazing. She taps her own maple syrup, uses chives from her garden, homemade loafs and jam, it was an excellent breakfast that we would enjoy having again.
You will not be disappointed - it is a must stay in North Sydney!

There is so much to explore inside of the charming Chamber's Guest house. It is like entering a 'treasure chest' and finding many unique objects that bring the past to the present. Painted ceramics, fringed and beaded lamp shades, and antique furniture create a welcoming and 'homey' aesthetic. The hospitality was wonderful, the breakfasts were delicious, and the bedroom was more than comfortable.

The Cabot Trail is close by as well as Louisbourg. Great location!

Cheryl, thanks for all, and we'll be back.

Room Tip: First floor bedroom is quiet!

We spent 5 days at Chambers B & B and can highly recommend it as a comfortable, attractive place to stay. Cheryl Chambers was a wonderful host and saw to our every need. It was great fun to meet the other guests as they joined us for breakfast in the spacious dining room or in the lovely living room for an afternoon tea break.
The house is filled with lovely furniture and glassware and wonderful beaded stained-glass lamps. The beds are very comfortable so staying for a week was great. Walk to town if you have time to see the boats and enjoy a meal at the Black Spoon.

I loved this great bed and breakfast, the whole house feels like stepping back in time. I particularly liked that there was glass door knobs.

The room I stayed in was absolutely beautiful, the bed was high, It was surprising to me find out it was a 1860s bed frame. The only problem was the door was rather hard to lock but as Cheryl stated comes along with a 130 year old house. Not a major deal.

The other guests I stayed were delightful, especially the 102 year old lady.

The breakfast was amazing! The set up was as if Queen Victoria herself was coming to breakfast. Very pretty plates, tea cups and cutlery. The boiled egg holder was interesting as well.

Overall, a must stay in North Sydney.

I had two great experiences at this B&B; its host, Cheryl Chambers, was very gracious. She was very helpful in making sure we caught a ferry out of North Sydney before a storm set in; as a result of her good advice, we ended up making it to Newfoundland... but we had to leave at midnight that night. Ever the gracious host, Cheryl only charged us only half her rate even though we were there all evening, rendering the room unrentable to anyone else.

On our way back from NFLD she accommodated our very late arrival (2am!). Her beds are very comfortable; you can tell she line-dries all her sheets and towels. She has a convenient little coffee & tea station upstairs for guest use. Breakfast was extensive, with lots of baked goods, eggs, bagels, toast, cereal, fruit and yogurt. Best of all, the value of this place cant be beat- this was our least expensive B&B during our three weeks in the maritimes.
My only complaint is that there is not really a place to watch TV- although there was a TV in our room it was tinier than my laptop screen and made a painful humming sound. I'll also note that this B&B is more like someone's house than an inn... but that someone is a very nice, honest person!
Overall, definitely recommended.

On a recent trip through Cape Breton we had the absolute pleasure of staying at this B&B. The house was delightful and gardens spectacular. This all before you even step inside!
You can tell from the moment you walk in a lot of heart and elegance went into this remarkable house. Like walking into a Victorian movie with cozy wing back chairs, beautiful antique furniture and personal china tea sets in your room!

Cheryl was amazing! The rooms were spotless and inviting. An incredible breakfast with real maple syrup and delicious coffee. Easily the best 3 nights of my entire trip!
