Great Atmosphere and food. The same owners also own and run the bar next door - the RedBird. We enjoyed a drink after dinner and a great discussion of scotch.

Located on Prince Street in Truro, Nova Scotia, this little restaurant offers home cooking, with a daily freshly made soup. The cream of broccoli has to be the best tasting soup I ever ate. The menu is not extensive; however, everything on it is great to eat. Premises are clean, service is excellent! I have eaten lunch & dinner there several times and it is my choice place whenever I am in the area.

Eight of us ate here on a Saturday night just before the summer season was i full swing. It was not busy. We got excellent service from the (very) young waitress. The manager helped us out with the wine and beer selection. One of our party asked about an item that was not on the menu, and they graciously prepared it for him. The service was friendly, the food very good. From the flyers and description of the establishmeent, one might not know they serve full meals - it is called a dessert and coffee shop. The place was clean and well maintained. We did not get a chance to check out the whisky bar attached to the restaurant. We were glad we chose the Wooden Hog. Check out the sculpture over the bar - it explains the name.
