We are in town overnight and ordered delivery to our hotel room because of the good reviews. Well, over 2 hours later, it arrived COLD, without plates or utensils or napkins.
When we phoned, we were told that it would arrive in about 45 minutes. Over an hour later, we phoned back and were told that it had been sent out with the delivery company. About a half hour later, we phoned back again and they were surprised we hadn't received it yet. They checked with the delivery company and we should have had it 20 minutes earlier. They were unable to contact the driver. There was nothing that the restaurant offered to do. So about a half hour after that, the food actually arrived. No apologies or explanation from the driver whatsoever. And, although the man at the restaurant seemed apologetic, we still had to pay full price for our $50 cold meal.
Now, the food was delicious, even cold. Wonderful, homemade egg rolls and special plum sauce! Fantastic chicken balls. Great Singapore noodles. The egg foo young was gross but I assume that was because cold eggs don't typically work out so well.
I don't think the restaurant is completely to blame for this fiasco. However, a discount would have gone a long way for customer service. And choosing to do business with this delivery company should be rethought. So, while we might go to the restaurant in the future, we will never order delivery from there again.
