“Best B&B ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2014 via mobile

My husband and I, along with my sister and brother-in-law, stayed at the Belgravia for two days at the end of July. We had been traveling in Nova Scotia for a week and had enjoyed great hospitality all over the province. However, Anne and D'Arcy and their family exceeded all of our already high expectations. The gourmet breakfast that they served was the best we've ever had. All ingredients were fresh and locally grown. They also had great restaurant recommendations locally (we highly recommend the Wild Caraway in Advocate Harbor). The B&B itself has been lovingly cared for. We stayed in the Lullaby room and enjoyed comfort and a great night's sleep. If you plan a stay in Truro or anywhere near that area, you owe it to yourself to book a room at the Belgravia B&B. You will not be disappointed.

We had a Great experience at the Belgravia B&B. The home was beautiful, the rooms were perfect, the breakfast (eggs Florentine) was delicious, and the owners were warm & friendly. We were sorry to leave.

An easy-to-find bed and breakfast, right off the highway and close to downtown Truro, with many amenities (shopping and dining) within walking distance. The house is a 1904 gem, well-maintained and cared for over the years. The hosts, Anne and Darcy, were very welcoming and helpful. They make you feel that their home is yours to share. The room ("Lullaby") was large, well-appointed with a modern en suite bath. There was a beautiful bright sitting room for guests. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented using silver serving pieces in the spacious dining room. The eggs Florentine were delicious and were complemented by yogurt, locally grown fresh fruit and homemade muffins. The blueberry juice was a real treat. Overall, a perfect place to stay. Would highly recommend!

We were greeted cheerfully and show around when we arrived. Beautiful rooms all about. Recommended a restaurant that was super. We sat out front for a while after dinner then went in and chatted to Anne for awhile.
We also met their 2 daughters who have a very exciting stories to tell too.
Breakfast served on a fantastic set table and the food was amazing.
Eggs benedict for breakfast. Photo is of the single one we ordered to share not with all the fixings.
If we are ever in the area again we will stop in again.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Belgravia and thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience. We're happy you took advantage of the beautiful evening to sit on the front step and relax and we also enjoyed getting to know you both! Thanks for the photo of the Eggs Florentine - a favourite here for breakfast. We hope we will see you again the next time you are in the area. (By the way, the painting did get finished!)

I am a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due and since I wrote my last review way back in 2010, I have had the pleasure of staying at the Belgravia Bed & Breakfast a few more times. Honestly, with each stay it just keeps getting better and better. It's still as quaint and charming as the first time but now it feels like I am returning home. D'arcy & Anne always take such good care of me. Anytime I travel through Truro, I know where I'm going to stay!

Being notified of your review was like receiving a warm hug on this dreary winter day! We are so happy that you have chosen us as your home-away-from-home when visiting Nova Scotia and look forward to your visits no matter what the duration. We look forward to hearing about your world travels the next time you are here - hopefully this summer?

I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely, roomy, cozy home during a weekend conference. My room was comfortable and perfect to sit and chat with a couple of friends. Each morning, a delicious breakfast was served in high style, homemade muffins, fruit salad and a yummy main dish. Darcy and Ann are warm and considerate hosts, and the house has a great feeling of life about it, with comfy sitting areas and even crystal wine glasses on hand. It was almost across the road from the Holiday Inn conference center and we could walk to all amenities, but we had a feeling of being away from it all. Will definitely go back.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Lullabye room, which had a couple of comfy chairs for hanging out with friends.

We found ourselves en route from Ingonish on the Cabot Trail trying to reach Halifax in one day. After a few stops we figured out that we had run out of time. The TI in Truro put us onto this B & B in Truro which was a bonus. Dave the father-in-law/grandfather to the owners handles most of the load while Darcy and Ann are off teaching. The house is 100+ years old and has three suites with ensuite bathrooms. The breakfast was eggs florentine......very very good. There were fresh juices and granola also. Service was excellent and Dave provided us with lots on onward travel information including a walk in Truro's Victoria Park and and directions to a lookout for the famous "Tidal Bore" created by the tides in the Bay of Fundy. Truro makes a good stop if you decide to head west to Port Royal/Wolfville or south to Halifax and the South Shore. I highly recommend the Belgravia. Dinner options are limited in Truro but the Bistro in the nearby Holiday Inn was a surprise. It was very good as was the service.
