“Service lets it down”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

We went for dinner with another couple with really high hopes, the menu looked really appealing.
The food was good and it was a relaxed atmosphere but what really lets this place down is the service.
I think we were served by the Manageress, i dont know if she was having a hard day or if shes just grumpy and impolite.
Anyway, her attitude completely ruined our evening, when discussing our evening with other friends we were told that they too had similar experiences with poor attitude.
Shame because the place has lots of potential.
Will not return until service improves

“Nice spot for dinner”
Reviewed July 28, 2012

We chose a table with umbrella outside on the street. Traffic is not so heavy as to distract. The Trio Dip Platter was truly delicious as a starter. Maple glazed salmon was very good. Moist and tender fish with an agreeably sweet touch in the glaze. Service was attentive, prices are reasonable. We also had dinner at Duffy's sister pub next door, the Split Crow. Bar food is well-prepared. Pineapple Ginger Prawns were very good.

“Split Crow pub - good location”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

Nice to be able to eat on the pavement seats, good well prepared food. Obviously refurbishing the pub but no issue with that.

“Delicious!”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

My husband and I decided to try this Ryan Duffy's location and I am so glad we did.
Alanna, our server, was friendly and efficient! We ordered the Trio dip to start. This appetizer was toasted triangles of pita bread, served with hummus, brushetta, and spinach dip. It was wonderful, but the portion size was very generous. It was more suited for a larger group. They should offer this in half sizes.
Our main selections were equally as good. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken, and enjoyed it. It was a chicken breast stuffed with feta cheese and bacon and glazed with honey and balsamic vinegar, served with grilled carrots and asparagus and mashed red skinned potatoes.
My husband ordered the 10 oz striploin with baked potato, grilled veg, mushrooms and onions and sour cream, bacon and snipped chives for his potato. His only small complaint was that he ordered his steak medium, but it was rare. He did not mind it though. No biggie!
We did not order dessert, we did not have room anyway! The total bill was 92.00 and for a nice meal with excellent service, we thought it was worth it!

“Beauty!”
Reviewed May 25, 2012

Who knew there was a Ryan Duffy's aside from the one we have in downtown Halifax? Not me! We were surprised to see this during our visit to Truro.
I'm not sure if they are franchised, but the food was great, prices certainly reasonable. Very quaint and quiet little restaurant.
My husband got the steak, and I had the pan fried haddock.
Super yummy!
