We recently had a trip around the South Shore of N.S. and stayed at MacKinnon-Cann Inn in Yarmouth. It is an old home that was bought and restored by two gentlemen from the U.S. They did a marvelous job of making this property into an Inn and have restored other houses in the neighbourhood. The room we had was nicely decorated with upgrades, but yet, still held it's character. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was very good quality. ( not the usual white sheets you get at a motel or hotel. ) The bathroom had in floor heat which was comfy on the feet. Breakfast is provided and they are accomodating to ones needs, diet wise. They did not have cold cereal but it wouldn't surprise me if they change that. Neil, one of the owners, spent some time with us as we ate and was very informative about how this place came about. We don't normally stay at Inns or B&Bs but this was a pleasant experience and would not hesitate to go back if and when we are in Yarmouth in the future. They are equipped to host groups for a birthday or anniversary party in their dining room.
