Let's be honest, Sleep Inn properties are just a basic hotel option -- of all the Comfort options, it's the most economical. Well, except when it's not. Like in Bracebridge, ON. Here, a night at Sleep Inn costs about 30 to 40% more than it should, while the hotel is just as basic and economical as the other properties.

Signage to get to the hotel is essentially missing. You can't turn left into the hotel from the main road, but there's very little advance warning of this, or signage to guide you. You must access it through the parking lot of the adjacent shopping areas, and while there's a tiny sign at the first entrance to that plaza, there's nothing visible when you're driving along at night searching for the entrance.

Check in was swift. Our room was a king non-smoking. Furniture and decor are dated, but passable. Cleanliness was passable as well, though not immaculate. The bathroom is split so that the sink/vanity is in the room, while the shower and toilet are in a separate room divided by a sliding door. There's no tub. This contributed to the room feeling small, which it was.

The king bed was hard and unforgiving. Bedding and towels are passable, though the bathmat had old stains, and one of our towels came with a nice long hair on it. Yuck!

On the plus side, the air conditioning worked well, and windows open to let in outside air. Unfortunately, the only lights in the room are huge banks of fluorescent lights overhead -- no lamps in the room.

The lobby was a mix of nice (fireplace and couches) and utilitarian (spartan decor, cafeteria-like ambiance in the breakfast room). It's like the hotel hasn't had any money invested into it in years, except for the main lobby couches!

The free continental breakfast was as expected -- primitive. One choice of coffee (no decaf), one choice of tea (orange pekoe), things to toast, some sugary cereals, and a grand total of 3 apples (the inaptly named "delicious"). Horribly organized, poorly maintained, the breakfast gives the impression that you'd better just pack up and get out.

Staff were gracious if not warm, polite if not overly welcoming. Parking is abundant and free.

It's a basic but clean and comfortable hotel. Check in and out was easy. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Would be better if they had quieter door closers. Unless you hold the door while it closes, it has a tendency to slam which late at night, is disturbing.
Breakfast was as basic as it gets. Bread, juice, coffee, cereal, muffins. Enough to get you going.
Walking distance to restaurants and many stores.
Quite pricey but that is probably as it is summer and Bracebridge is a vacation area and this is their season. Plenty of parking.
I would stay here again

Service was very good. Hard to find - the hotel is listed on google maps off Cedar lane, but it is actually down by the mall, near the Swiss Chalet and such ('broken street' the hotel told me when I called frustrated), so be aware.

Hotel is past it's prime for sure - but was clean enough and was fine for one night. Free wifi in rooms. Breakfast was poor - a few tiny muffins and cereal definitely not 'deluxe continental' by anyone's opinion!

Would look for something better next time.

Attended a swim meet for the weekend and stayed here. Front staff very helpful. The rooms are average but really clean. A tiny fridge under the sink. Sink is open to the room - toilet and shower together with a door. I found this difficult when I had to leave to help by 6:30am I couldn't get ready without waking up the others in my room. I wish the sink area was in the bathroom. Snowmobiles are around but I am use to them where I live - welcome to the north! - lol I got my room with Expedia and got a good price so I would suggest Hotel shopping because not everyone got the same price. Location is great walking distance to restaurant and grocery store. Really central so easy to get to anything in Bracebridge. Remember Bracebrige is a small town so this hotel fits. For what I needed I would stay again. Visit Bracebridge's downtown - one of the best anywhere I have been!

Slim pickings in the town of Bracebridge. We were in town for a swim meet. Upon arrival our price went up by $20, lucky for me I had my conformation # on hand with the rate they quoted me. They had to honour it. Rooms r small, no water pressure in stand up shower. Lots and lots of snowmobilers stay at this hotel because the trail runs right in front of the hotel. They make lots of noise both inside and out of the hotel. Very hard to get sleep with the thin walls and music playing at 1 am. Wish there was somewhere nicer to stay in Bracebridge !!

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a non-smoking room...believe it or not, this place still has smoking rooms ???

If you are looking to take your pet/s to Muskoka region this hotel is a good one. We had a 5-month old Lab puppy and it enjoyed the stay. The room was little smaller but you have have all the major amenities provided in the room including a small fridge and the stay was comfortable. I feel the stand-up shower provided in this hotel is the best option Vs tub (provided in most the hotels) for a quick shower . The hotel was clean and maintained well. The bed were arranged and done neatly. The only major problem we had was the overhead fluorescent lamps over the sink was not lighting properly and in spite of our personal complaint to the frontdesk staff it was not fixed in our two-day stay in the hotel. Had a tough time shaving my beard in the dim light. Wi-fi, TV and A/C worked well and glad to note there were multiple power sockets available to plug your gadgets.

Breakfast was very standard with muffins, bread, bagels and cereals but the dining area was small and the hotel should do something to increase that area and provide more chairs and tables.

The hotel is located in one corner of the busy strip plaza and people traveling from East have to enter through the Bracebridge Mall entrance via the strip plaza which we figured out after a day stay. Walking distance to Metro, Independent Supermarkets and you are close to Pizza Pizza, Swiss Chalet, Harveys and othe popular restaurants. For coffee lovers.Tim Horton is around the corner. A good place to take your pet/s for walking as the parking lot is big attached to the strip plaza.
