The trip leaving from Brockville is OK but there is a lot of open water before the actual castles and things to see, which makes it a long trip for lots of water seeing only.

Just went on the 2 hour cruise with my wife and son (5yrs old). We took this cruise because we figured my son who is a huge adrenaline junkie would love the speed. Wow... were we wrong!! The boat never reaches speeds of 45mph. They keep it at 35mph at best!! At $60/Adult and $30/Child your better off going with the boat cruise at half the price to get your history lesson. Extremely disappointed, will not go back and will not recommend this to any of my friends!! If you are booking this charter for speed, please save your money!! No need to hold onto your hats!!

We took the 1000 island cruise from Gananoque. The islands were beautiful, but the cruise itself was very disappointing. If I'd known, we would have taken a private boat. The crowd on the cruise was loud and obnoxious. The boat itself was not very nice,to say the least. For what we paid for a family of 4, it was certainly not worth it. Facilities nearby were terrible.

I have been on several thousand island tours over a number of years and this one was, by far, the lowest quality and most disappointing. We were on the 1.5 hour tour on the General Brock. First clue: a sightseeing boat with windows so dirty you could not really see out of them without moving around to see the vista around the obstructions (mostly dead bugs). Second clue: not a live narrative; and the tape that was used needs to be updated because some of the landmarks have changed e.g., the brown house with the gingerbread is now a blue house with gingerbread. But it was a nice day on the water and the park where the tour boat starts is very nice for lunch and a walk. But, wow, this tour really needs some work. It could be great, but it is not.

The thousand Island cruises are an experience one can only get on a boat. Boldt Castle and Singer Castles have such interesting history. The former has been finshed much the way in which the owner intended for his wife who passed away all too soon and left him bereft and the castle just a shell. See it today and imagine how much the man loved his wife. Singer Castle conveys a sense of class distinction. Servants were not to be seen by guests, and/or family and the castle is built with hidden passages to enable servants to move around without being seen.
Brockville excels in summer events, there is so much to see and do. This years Tall ships was excellent; I'm looking forward to Rib-fest and if I had the opportunity to move, I would like to live in Brockville. It's very English.
