“Perfect in every way!”
Reviewed September 7, 2010

When my husband and I, with daughter and son in law were passing through Brockville on our way to another city, we stayed for one night in the Pastor's Suite (a small attached apartment) at the Green Door B & B. We would have loved to stay much longer! The Green Door is very unusual and interesting in that it is a renovated church. It is absolutely gorgeous- the renovation was perfectly executed and the decor couldn't be more classy. The Inn is absolutely immaculate. In addition to the many indoor comforts, there are furnished outdoor decks and more than enough off-street parking. The B & B is located within a short walk of the quaint village of Brockville and the beautiful St. Lawrence Seaway. The Innkeepers are highly professional, yet warm, friendly and totally accomodating. Reservation, check in and check procedures went very smoothly. Breakfast was gourmet level. On top of all of this, the price was very reasonable. This B & B is a gem and we hope to stay here again!

The B&B is centrally located in town (most hotels are a bit out of the centre). It serves the best breakfast we have ever had at a B&B. The owners met us at the train station. There is an excellent Bistro close by where we had dinner (Buell St Bistro-highly recommended). The B&B is a tastefully and cleverly built within an old Pentecostal tabernacle. This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. We would highly recommend ths to everyone staying in Brockville.

The Green Door isa delightful B&B. Lynn and Peter are very welcoming and made us feel at home. The former church building is tastefully decorated and the hosts provide lots of useful information and pleasant conversation. Guests are encouraged to breakfast together and a large, delicious breakfast is provided. All in all the Green Door is one of the best B&Bs we've stayed in and is terrific value.
Peter recommended the Buell Street Bistro, under 5 minutes' walk from the B&B, for a meal. The food was excellent and they have an ourdoor patio for al fresco dining. Lynn also recommended a visit to the Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg, which is about 30 minutes' drive from Brockville. It was a most interesting open-air museum.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the Green Door.

We did a 2 weeks trip around Ontario. Green door was the best B&B we spent our night in. The owners are great, very friendly, it's a pleasure to talk with them and learn about this unique B&B. We loved everything in it: the bedroom was very spacious, with a beautiful bathroom, antique furniture everywhere, and fantastic living room open to the guests. All details are perfect. The breakfast was very good as well: all home cooked (she's a great cook, believe me!! even my partner which is usually very fussy about food, ate everything with pleasure). Located a short walk from the town centre, in a quiet location, you really shouldn't miss it. Thank you so much!! we really had a great time there!!!

Peter and Lynn, I am so envious of what you have accomplished in this lovely B&B. The location, cleaniless, size of room and bathroom is just wonderful. I miss having ironned sheets, like I use to have at home...here you have them so you are GTD a great night sleep. Had a wonderful Petit-Dejeuner with fruits, eggs, spinach, jus and yes THE BEST coffee in a long time.

Merci and we will be back in August or September!

Had a great few nights here. Lynn and Peter are so welcoming we felt instantly at home. Great rooms, great breakfasts and a truly unusual quirky place-a labour of love and it shows. We would not consider staying anywhere else in Brockville if we return.

My partner and I visited Brockville for a family birthday. Brockville itself is an interesting town to visit but this B&B was a trip in itself. The generous spaces created from the old church were designed to create comfortable rooms with good privacy and open, light-filled common areas. The decor and furnishings invite relaxing and conversation - visitors are at ease in the well-furnished but informal and cosy lounge. We were happy to spend some weekend morning time reading the paper, and talking to the other guests with our coffee and scones. The large breakfast was delicious and varies each morning. I was very happy not to see any lace - the style is retro and eclectic and features souvenirs of the old church, the owners' hobby of old sports cars and Brockville's past. Our room was very comfortable. The bed was a standard double, which was short for my 6'4" frame, however, I had a good sleep. Great bathroom!
