The Capital Theatre is wonderful conversion of an old movie theatre. The municipality, other levels of government, as well as, private and corporate donors plowed millions into this project. It was supposed to be run as a non-profit performing arts theatre. They brought in some big acts, when it opened, however, the venture failed after only one season. Ownership has since been transferred to St. Clair College who now operate it. It is now sadly under-utilized. It is beautifully appointed inside and a great place to catch a live show when they occasionally come to town. I prefer seats close to the front balcony.
