“Quaint Restaurant in Collingwood”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

My husband and I went to Trattoria Azzurra to celebrate an anniversary and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is small and intimate with a cozy atmosphere. It is very popular as it was packed on a Friday night. They had just changed their menu and the food was wonderful.

I had the celerac and apple soup to start. It was creamy and just right in spices. I then had the pasta with shrimp and scallops. The scallops were creamy and melted in your mouth and the shrimp were grilled to perfection.

We will definitely be back and we love Azzurra.

“A fantastic dinner to end the summer”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

After hiking through tree tops and zip lining down mountains, we ventured into Collingwood for dinner. Before going, we checked out local reviews for a number of different restaurants and settled on Azzurra. We made the right decision! We've eaten in 5 star restaurants and had meals prepared by incredible chefs, and Azzurra ranks up there with them. A bowl of steaming mussels in a white wine broth, a bowl of celeriac, leek and apple soup made with local apples from this year's harvest followed by an amazing sweet potato gnocchi with grilled brussel sprouts, incredible thick cut smoked bacon, apple, and crispy sage all topped with fresh reggiano was absolutely the winning dish which ended up becoming, as with most of the meal, a shared dish between my wife and I.

We enjoyed the patio which was quiet that evening and chatted briefly with our server. The meal came together with a bottle of California, Black Oak, Chardonnay.

The overall experience was great, and we will be making another trip to Collingwood in the coming month if for nothing else than to dine at Azzurra and try something else.

“noisy, moderate service”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

Five of use were there for dinner, not sure if they were understaffed but things took a bit of time to get there. The sweet potato gnocchi was highly spoken of by the water- it was good with maple and bacon but very sweet and heavy. The deep fried calamari as an app was very good.

“Certainly worth a visit”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

We reserved a table for dinner after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed.
We asked to see the dessert menu at the same time as the main one as we wanted to see if we should go for starters and main or main and dessert. We knew we couldn't manage all three as we find Canadian portions very generous. We went for mains and dessert.
My husband chose Arctic chard with a side portion of potato fingerlings which he declared to be very good.I had the pork tenderloin which was delicious. It came on a bed of gnocchi with a gorgeous sauce.
For dessert he chose three 'mini' desserts which were not so mini---creme brulee, cookie with icecream and a gelato.I had lemon tart which was very good indeed but it came with only a tiny serving of whipped cream. But maybe too much cream would have spoiled the tanginess of the lemon. We had a NZ Sauvignon Blanc to drink.
Our waitress was lovely, very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was almost full by about 8.30 so the atmosphere was good.
I definitely recommend this restaurant.

“Great night of dining”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Visited this fine restaurant for our anniversary on the September long weekend and had a beautiful meal. Staff was friendly and the fine dining dinner was excellent. Menu seemed small but the food we ordered was very very good. Cooked to perfection. Tried the Pork tenderloin and might have been as good as I have ever had!
