We did not eat dinner here, but by the look of the restaurant and menu we would definitely go next time we are in Collingwood. Really nice old home that has been renovated into a unique restaurant and bar experience. We sat in the bar and enjoyed drinks and jazz.

Our first meal at the Tremont Cafe was a wonderful experience. To begin, we shared the delectable chicken liver pâté (prepared with red peppercorns -- eat them -- and tiny green apple slices) which we ate on the most perfect slices of baguette. The pâté was a real highlight. Then I ate the duck confit prepared with a hint of orange, and served with parsnip purée, lentils, and sprouts. Perfect for winter. She ate the lamb shank with root vegetables: carrots, sweet potatoes, and maybe parsnip. They were both excellent. For dessert, we shared bourbon vanilla crème brûlée, which was nothing spectacular but nicely done. We would have appreciated better guidance on wine pairings for main courses, and the by-the-glass list is quite short. Given that we were driving back to Toronto, we were not prepared to have a full bottle. However, overall the service was very strong. The restaurant is beautiful, chic but casual. The library bar looks like it would be lovely for a larger group. Please improve signage and shovel the path from the parking lot to the restaurant, as we both came in with wet feet after being unable to find the door. Customers should note that the menu slightly varies from what is on the website, but the thrust is the same. Bravo. 5 stars. We paid $100 + $20 tip for one appetizer, two entrees, one dessert, and two glasses of wine.

So glad that the other trip advisor reviews lead us here. We moved to the area 3 years ago from Toronto and are "former foodies" if you will... What a find! Great atmosphere. Reasonable wine list. Professional service. Fantastic apps and great variety of mains. Loved the calamari (better than O+B!) Seared scallops were delicate and perfectly paired with the wasabi mayo. If you're going to break your new year's resolution (on January 3rd...) and go all out, the burgers are worth it. Can't wait to go back!

The Tremont Cafe is such a special place slightly hidden away from the main street bustle of Collingwood.

First off the space is incredible. It is hard to find such attention to detail anywhere. From the floors, to the texture of the walls, to the fixtures, to the colour of the ceiling, there is no detail spared in the renovation of the cafe. I have spent hours in the Tremont and can always find a small detail that is done perfectly.

I have had pretty much everything the Tremont makes, I go there a lot and have been able to enjoy the changing menu. I have never been disappointed with the food. The short ribs and steak are a favorite along with the veggie bowl. I don't really like the date part of the trio but you can't have it all. Service is always very friendly and I always feel at home.

I have been here for dinner with my fiance, with friends for drinks and for work meetings - and every time is great! The service is fantastic, food delicious and everything is such a great price - very impressed! My last time there was for a business meeting - we ended up spending three hours there and the waitress was attentive the entire time. Definitely would recommend going here if you haven't!
