“Victorian Beauty”

A lovely historic home tastefully restored with a "wine" theme. Rooms are beautifully furnished with comfortable mattresses, luxurious linens and high end products. Our room also came with a bottle of Perrier and a few bottles of water, a nice touch. We chose the Chardonnay room, which had a jacuzzi bath as well as a little sitting area in front of an electric fireplace. There is a big selection of DVDs, if you care to spend a lazy afternoon. Room was clean and the area is quiet. Breakfast is customized to your taste, and Annette is an excellent chef. Bacchus house is located within walking distance of downtown Collingwood. Annette is very helpful and thoughtful. I would not hesitate to recommend staying here, you will be enchanted with this lovely Victorian home.

I had celebrity guests coming from out of town and I wanted something really special. I spoke to Annette and toured Bacchus House B & B and knew instantly that it had all the wow factor I was looking for. My husband and I stayed overnight to visit longer with our guests and we joined them for breakfast. My husband is not into the whole Heavenly Bed thing the way I am, but he can't stop talking about our bed in the Cabernet room. The minute we were tucked up into the comforter and pillows he was out like a light. That never happens when we travel. We had the best night's rest away from home in years. Breakfast allowed lots of choice and was everything we expected from Annette--the hostess extraordinaire!
The boardroom is a great amenity and Andy & Annette's future plans for catered dinners will allow me to have as many guests for dinner as I want, with all the privacy of our own home (plus fabulous decor!). If I have a corporate event to organize, Bacchus House has everything I look for--walk to downtown, and all the privacy and luxury you want for combining work with pleasure.
If there was a six-star rating available, Bacchus House B & B would deserve it. Very reasonable rates and not a single detail forgotten. It just doesn't get any better.

Room Tip: There are simply no bad rooms but if you want the "suite" experience, choose the Chardonna...

I have stayed in hotels and around the world - and I really appreciate a great bed, privacy, delicious food, central location and being hosted by knowledgeable and gracious people. This has that all - not an easy task for a B & B - I suppose that is how they rate 5 stars. Coming up from the US the Collingwood area and Bacchus house were both a wonderful surprise for me! If you can get a reservation here go for it!

Room Tip: There are great pictures on the website!

Highly recommended. We stayed overnight on a Wednesday and were the only guests at the time (weekends during summer and winter ski season are fully booked months in advance). Annette is a great host and offered suggestions for regional activities and great restaurants in walking distance from the B&B.
Good B&B's like this one are a real step up from the typical hotel experience.

Neither of us had ever stayed at a B&B, so we weren't sure what to expect. We thought there would be a complete lack of privacy, but it was the opposite. The Bacchus House is extremely beautifully decorated with each room reflecting a different type of wine. There is no lack of attention to the details. The beds are so comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Annette gave us a tour of the home and described the history of the house. She gave us ideas of things to do while there and suggested which restaurants are the best in town & up at the Blue Mountain Village. Collingwood is a nice, quiet town with lots to do, but the highlight was definitely our time spent inside the Bacchus House. We will definitely be back to visit Annette & hopefully Andy will be there next time as well.

This is really a nice place. All rooms charming and very clean, simply completely excellent, a very very friendly athmosphere, fantastic breakfast, really a place to enjoy, relax and suffer from many other accomodations we found during our 4 weeks travel in Canada. After seeing our rooms we immediately decided to stay for another night simply to enjoy another day in the house. Thanks to Annette for her perfect and warm hospitality.

The host was very friendly and showed us around the house and explained the history of the house once we settled in a bit. We stayed at the Merlot room which was very clean. We were pleasantly surprised by how beautifully the room and the rest of the house is decorated. The place has an extensive selection of movies, board games, and magazines. There was also an extensive selection on breakfast and it was very delicious. We don't think we could ever ask for a better stay. We'll definitely go back again!
