“Relaxing at Georgian Bay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

We spent a very relaxing week at the Georgian Manor during the last week of May 2014. We were a bit concerned by some reviews we had read but on arrival found that our room (377) which is a one bedroom unit that can sleep up to four was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Check in was trouble free and all staff we encountered were helpful and accommodating. The king size bed was very comfortable and the shower had good pressure. Kitchen appliances were modern and worked well. Our only concern was the temperature in the hallway which seemed to keep our room warmer than we would have liked. The air conditioner struggled a bit but managed to keep us cool. We found the location of the resort to be very good and central to a number of attractions in the Collingwood area. Would be very happy to go back.

Room Tip: We found that most of the poor reviews for this property seemed to be associated with accommodation...

Do not stay here if you're looking to catch up on your sleep. Walls are paper thin. The noise in the halls carries right into your room. People arguing, yelling and mis-behaving in the halls at all hours. This place is so out of date. I thought I was back in the sixties! Spring filled mattress..Give me a break.
At $146/night plus they should be ashamed. This place appears to me to be one step away from bankruptcy!

Room Tip: Check your room first. Televisions have got to be 20 + years old.

The staff and suite at Georgian Manor was so satisfying for our 2 nights away from our busy lives. Loved the indoor pool and quaint restaurant. It was very relaxing and I especially enjoyed the ground level suite with a walk out to our own private patio.

Room Tip: I recommend ground floor with the walk out patio option.

I can't believe on this resort's web page sets " Welcome to One of the World' Most Lovely Hotels"!!
We went there with a "promotion" package. We had to reschedule the dates because my husband's job, they were very rude on the phone, they didn't let me change the check in dates or I would be charge with over $300 dollars (plus what I paid for the package)

Whe got there, gosh everything is old dated. One of the receptionist was so gentle, but out of that a bad experience. Rooms so so, and the indoor pool looks dirty. Empty restaurant all the time ( I wonder why?) and on top of that we had to go to a almost 4 hour timeshare presentation. Yes, 4 hours for 1 night stay!
Please, please do NOT stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: Do not stay at this hotel.

Love their Jacuzzi, sauna, and in door swimming pool. My family had a great time staying in this resort. This place is beautiful and it is close enough to Blue Mountain. We will definitely go back there for the out door pool!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. We went for the long weekend in May and were very happy with our weekend stay. The staff was very nice and very helpful and the hotel was gorgeous. Check in and check out was smooth. They even gave us a few pages about activities/things to do that weekend.

It was a little out dated but that didn't bother us as well. We golfed on the resort for a very cheap price (about $5 a person) I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others. We didn't eat there but spoke to others who had, and they said they thoroughly enjoyed it.

We rented a townhouse unit to share between 4 adults and 2 children. The unit had 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms which provided ample room for all of us. The kitchen and common area were well stocked with supplies but the place overall had a run down feel and desperately needed some updating. The place had many stains, chips and rotting windows that wouldn't open. You also had to be very patient to get the patio door to lock properly. With breakfast we paid around $400 a night (total with taxes), which was reasonable when split in half but I am sure we could get a vacation rental next year for the similar money that would be in better shape. Mind you the resort areas (pool, mini putt, gym etc.) looked beautiful but it was too cold this May to take advantage of them. This place could be a gem if it was updated.

Room Tip: Stay away from the resort's hotel rooms. The restaurant had a decent breakfast for a reasonable...
