We got the package at the wine show, which cost $90 for 2 nights plus spa voucher and 2 for 1 dinner voucher. and then I read the previous review about this hotel and felt quite anxious about our visit.
The first impression at the lobby was not bad, there are a few staff there, and in no time we got check in and got our room which is on the ground floor!! (yea, there is no elevator so if you have a lot of luggages ask for the ground floor start with 2xx. as 1xx is at the basement!! in advance!!)
all the rooms on this floor i think are all connecting room, so if you book more than 2 rooms which is good. our room was ok. no major problem. There is no fridge or phone in the room, so we use ice bucket for cooling our wine and some food. WIFI works fine in the room as well. We slept well on the bed but i think the double bed might be too small for 2 big adults! so just be aware of it. and it is right the wall is thin so you can hear noises from the hall or washroom somewhere...
Since we are at the main lodge, and ground floor, it is really convenient to go to pool and hot tub. during our stay there were a lot of kids, but during dinner time it got quiet, so if you don't want kids' company, go after 7pm
we went to Memories(the restaurant) for dinner for 2 nights as we have meal vouchers. and was advised by previous comments, so we asked receptionist to book the table for us, and the last rsvn is 9pm. food is pretty good, we only order main course, and the steak was very good to our liking, lamb is good but not the sauce. seafood fettucini is good with nice portion of seafood. lobster gnnchi is just ok.
On friday and sat. nights there are live music at the lounge! we listened to canadian idol runner up Drew Wright on friday night and he was awesome!!
On Sat we snowshoes at the resort, and it was a nice workout
overall our stay at the resort was better than we expected.
and i heard that they will upgrade the rooms in the next few months! so might be worth the wait?!

Room Tip: if in the main lodge, and don't want to walk up choose room start with 2xx. as 1xx is at the bas...

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at The Cranberry Golf Resort and for taking the time to review our property. We are delighted that our front desk staff was able to get you into your room quickly and efficiently and that you enjoyed your experience with us. One of the many upgrades we will be doing in the next few months will be changing all beds in the hotel to queens, We hope to have a chance to try them out on your next trip to Collingwood, Ont.

This is not a nice place to stay! Old and dated. If you are looking for a nice place don't stay here!
I would not consider this to be a "resort" It's an old Motel type place that they are calling a resort. I have stayed in many resorts and hotel and this is one of the worst! Couldn't pay me to return!
I would stay if it was free!

Good hotel, clean, had everything we needed. Was in good proximity to amenities. Pool needs to be painted to give it a fresh look, the black stains remind me of black mold. rooms could be updated and freshened up, over all we were not at the hotel much and got a great deal from a friend so we were ok with what we got but had I paid full price I would have been disappointed.

This is a tired no-tell motel. Had read the reviews on here and we were scared of what would happen.

Told lady at counter that we were not comfortable staying here based on all the bad reviews. She offered to show us a room. It was on the first floor near pool and you could smell the pool.

She mentioned that for an extra $60 we could upgrade to the Livingwaters location. Ummmmmmm, if ur trying to sell a $30,000 timeshare why not put people into a nice place???????

We asked about other options and she put us up stairs In a redone room. It had new ceramic tile in the entrance and new paint on the walls. In fact they just painted over the wallpaper and any repairs made to it. I have posted a pic of it

On the bathroom door was something red/brown that looked like blood. Do they not look when they clean???? I posted a pic as well. A pig with lipstick comes to mind

Staff was very friendly but the bad reviews are consistent with what we had.

My son and I stayed here while we went to Blue Mountain for a skiing trip. When we arrived, there was nobody in sight at the front desk. We had to wait almost 5 minutes for someone to show up. Immediately when we started walking down the hall to our room we noticed that the decor was old and in need of an upgrade. The swimming pool had a crack in the bottom and a large brown stain. The room was tidy but did not smell clean. It had that old carpet smell. I'm sure this was a very nice hotel in it's day but as I said, it needs alot of updating/upgrading.

This "resort" does not appear to be what it is advertised as. The facilities are old, they are unclean, and over all unsatisfactory. We arrived for our week long stay, during which we found the common areas (elevators, hallway, staircases, entrances, unclean, filled with salt and mud. These areas remained exactly the same when we left the resort a week later. It was not cleaned a single time. the walls are paper thin, and you could hear everything. very annoying. The room we stayed in was not very clean upon arrival. It was not cleaned a single time during our stay. Bed sheet were not changed, towels, or supplies not changed as well. The restaurant is a joke. The food is less than satisfactory (do not try the duck, it is all fat not duck). We arrived a second time one evening just for a quick bite. The waitress was very busy with 6 tables and no one to help her. We understood, and so she sat us down at a table. Later her helper came, we began top order, asked her some questions about food choices, to which she THEN asked us if we have reservations. We said the restaurant is empty. She replied we needed a reservation. We of course, left. she was incredibly rude and totally unnecessary. All the amenities, spa and pool, are separate from the building we stayed in meaning we had to dress up in full winter gear, go outside, just to access pool. Little things like this really showcase the lack of ease and convenience of a resort or hotel. This was hugely disappointing. Do not come here.

Room Tip: we cant, wouldnt recommend

We bought a trip to this location at a wedding fair as the price for two nights was a bargain ($99 for two nights!) and in one of our favourite towns of Collingwood/Blue Mountain.

I must say, I would not choose to live here if I was paying full price. It is very tired old and needs renovating (badly). Location wise it is good - near Blue Mountain Skiing and Scandinave Spa (both less than 8 minutes drive away)

The staff are very friendly and welcoming though. The premises has a pool and hot jaccuzzi (but it didn't look very clean). Their brunch was nice and good value for $13. Don't eat at the in-house restaurant (Memories) - there are better places in Collingwood!

The rooms are strictly OK - the beds are not the most comfortable and a lot of the corridor decor etc. is extremely dated (and rather smelly). They only have one floor up (but no lift) so may not be the best if you have to lug a lot of heavy luggage, children or stuff to your room. The rooms don't have a fridge if you want to cool your own bevvies or yoghurts.

The place however seemed to be full which was suprising - lots of skiers just looking for a place to crash at night I suppose.

Look elsewhere - perhaps a B&B or share a cottage. But don't part with your money for this overpriced place unless you get an awesome deal like we did and don't mind slumming it.

Room Tip: Rooms on both sides are fine - its not a busy end of town so the roads aren't noisy. You may wan...
