Beauview Cottage Resort
Reviewed August 5, 2014 via mobile

This is our 3rd consecutive year going to Beauview Cottage and Resort. Gord and Nancy are by far the best hosts around. Beauview is just far enough from all the traffic but close enough to take a day trip to town for the shops, baysville for some great beer at Lake of Bays brewery or a drive down stunning hwy 9 south portage road to Henrietta's Bakery! Stunning view, kayaks, canoes, boat rides, tubing, fishing and kids crafts is just the start of what this amazing cottage offers in beautiful bays ville.

A group of 5 families spent four nights at Beauview at the end of June/beginning of July and could not have been happier with our experience. Great swimming, kayaks, paddle boats and a fun trampoline/moonwalk that we all were on daily. Very nice, clean cabins with lots of linens and towels. Oh yeah, and it was nice having a hot tub on the porch too.
Gord and Nancy are extremely accommodating and even had activities (crafts and tubing behind a boat).
Highly recommended.

This is a lovely spot on Lake of Bays. It's not fancy but it's very clean and comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked and all linens are provided. Hosts Gord and Nancy are extremely accommodating. There is heating and air conditioning as well as hot tubs! Lakefront has kayaks, canoes, paddle boats etc. A short drive to Baysville and Huntsville. A really nice place to stay.

It was the first time we rented a cottage in Muskoka. We have three children 14, 9 and 6. They had lots of fun and lots to do. The weather was excellent and the black flies or mosquitoes were not so bad.
The hosts were very heplful and there all the time. The cottage was very clean and comfortable.
We roasted marshmallows and made some smores... row the boat...kayaking....peddles boats...basketball...
It's a great place to take the family!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed in cottage #3 around Dec 21 for 3 nights. It was so relaxing, very romantic, and just beautiful.

Gord and Nancy were very gracious hosts that gave us lots of helpful maps, parking passes and coupons for nearby attractions. They helped us get in touch with nearby attractions as well.

The cottage themselves are a little threadbare and rustic, but usable. I recommend bringing your own robes, the ones provided are nice, but a bit rough. There are movies and board games available, and great temperature control.

We enjoyed snowball fights, snowshoeing on the grounds, a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snow nearby, and great downhill skiing at Hidden Valley, also conveniently close. The hot tub was a blessing and we spent many nights curled up in it, listening to the snow fall.

It's probably a good idea to take a big car up here, the road conditions were horrifying in my boyfriend's little Honda. There aren't too many places nearby to eat, but the very functional fridge and oven means you can bring your own food and cook. The complimentary wine and jam were also very well appreciated!

I had booked a cottage here with a group of friends and we had such a blast. Gord and Nancy are the sweetest couple! They were so warm and welcoming. They provided us with so much information about things to do and were always readily available to help us out whenever we needed it.

There are great skiing places in the area for both cross country and downhill. Gord and Nancy provide snowshoes to borrow free of charge. There are also great opportunities to walk on the frozen lake in the winter right behind the cottages. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

The actually cottage was fantastic! A group of 6 of us stayed in the 3 bedroom cottage. It had everything you could possibly need for a relaxing weekend. We felt so at home like we were at a friend's house. There was so many TV channels, stove, fridge, fire place and towels in each room. Gord and Nancy also had an assortment of DVDs and boardgames to pick from. They even provided us with things like a peeler and electric can opener when we asked. Very hospital place to stay. Thanks for a great weekend Gord and Nancy!

Highly recommend staying here!

Room Tip: The 3 bedroom option had a double bed in 2 rooms and 2 single beds in the third room.

My partner and I found this gem online as a last minute getaway. The descriptions do not do it justice. Upon arrival you are greeted by two of the friendliest people, Gord and Nancy. We were shown around our cottage (#3 - great views) and settled in. This place has so many little extras. From the movie library, DVD AND VCR player, robes for the hot tub, snowshoes and a complimentary bottle of wine. The kitchen is well-equipped with utensils and there were even some for the BBQ. We were treated to a jar of homemade preserves made at a place just up the road called Yummies in a Jar (you have to stop there). There was even a sled to load all our gear onto to save many trips from the car to the room on the icy pathway. I am always worried about my back when staying away but was so happy to find an Obusform mattress just like the one I have at home. No problems at all! The skiing and skating at Arrowhead Park were great and we snowshoed across the lake. If you like watching deer in their environment, you will see some! The hot tub in the gentle snowfall was so romantic. Thank you Gord and Nancy for a wonderful weekend. Can't wait to see what it's like in the summer!
