Beauview Cottage Resort
Reviewed July 16, 2012

This was our fourth straight summer coming to Beauview Cottage Resort to stay for a week. We originally found it on the internet and each visit our family enjoys it more and more. We have young children and they have been enjoying this beautiful place since they were toddlers. It all begins with the Hosts / Owners Gord and Nancy. You could not find two more accomodating people. They set up an outdoor kitchen and play toys in front of the cottage in preparation four our arrival. They also provide us with safety plugs for the electric sockets and have provided bed railings too. Nothing is too small or large for them to help with. Each year Gord has taken us out on a boat trip on the Lake of Bays. And we have used their permits for Algonquin Park on several occasions. The cottages are very clean and recently Gord upgraded cottage #6 (our usual one) with a new barbecue and flat screen television. All the cooking utensils and equipment are provided as well. Our kids love Beauview as much as we do because there is so much for them to do! There is a shallow swim area with a sand area next to the natural beach. There are life jackets, pool noodles, innertubes, and even kids' individual pedal boats for them to enjoy. There are also lots of sand toys, a playground with swings and climbing equipment and lots of sports balls and equipment. All of these plus the use of row boats, pedal boats, kayaks, canoes, water trampoline, Moonwalk log, and Iceberg climber are all free for guests. Our kids have also done crafts with Nancy, and on the occasional rainy day, watched a video from Beauview's large collection, or played a board game. Beauview is also a place where you can sit, relax and enjoy the sheer beauty of the surroundings and the Lake of Bays. There are so many places to sit as well as several gazebos to keep you shaded. The last thing that I want to mention is the location. It is a short drive to Baysville, about 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Huntsville and about 30 minutes from the west gate of Algonquin Park. I highly recommend Beauview Cottage Resort and thank Gord and Nancy for taking such good care of us. We plan on returning next summer again!

Room Tip: Cottage 6 is not directly facing the water but is a great choice for a family needing two bedrooms.

My new husband and I spent our honeymoon at Beauview Cottage Resort. It was total relaxation and tranquility. Gord and Nancy were wonderful hosts and seemed to bend over backwards to help make our stay enjoyable. Nancy googled information for us on the Lady Muskoka. That was an awesome trip, I would highly recommened everyone to take it on their stay in the area.

We found Beauview via Tripadvisor and must say we didn't regret it! We rented a cottage for two persons and were warmly welcomed by Nancy. She explained everything and gave us some directions to the nearest supermarket.
The fully equipped cottage was very cozy and had a nice view over the lake. We could use all the water gear for free. We were there for 2 nights, and we were totally relaxed. Even after a long hike at Algonquin Park (70 km East). It was such a peaceful and beautiful place to stay.
We would like to thank Gord and Nancy for our lovely stay and hope we can go there again some day.
Keep up the good work!

My husband and I came to the Beauview Cottage Resort for a weekend to get away from it all and to celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary. All I can say is we had an AMAZING time!!! Gord and Nancy, you two were so hospitable, the cottage was so cute and very clean! We really enjoyed our time out on the lake in the canoe that you provided, but I think our favourite was the personal hot tub on the deck. Everything was taken care of, thank you for the bottle of wine and the homemade soaps, all the little things are so appreciated. We will definitely return again, I wish it could be sooner :) Thanks for the amazing weekend at the Beauview Cottage Resort!!!

We had a great time at Beauview. Firstly, their hosts, Gordon and Nancy, make you feel right at home and are so helpful to ensure a memorable experience. Secondly, the location of the resort is perfect, right next to a lake, which you can see and enjoy right from your living room, with all the peace and quiet you can hope for. Then, the resort provides kayaks and canoes in excellent condition, free of charge, paddling lessons included! The cottages even have an outdoor jacuzzi right on the porch, facing the lake ¿What else can you ask for? Now, the resort is about a half an hour drive from the West Gate of Algonquin Park, but is a very pleasant drive. Oh, yes, the park pass is complimentary too. On the good side, you are also but 15 minutes from Huntsville where you can find good restaurants and shopping. Another excellent surprise, the cottage is supplied with absolutely everything you may need for an enjoyable stay. All you have to bring is the food, they supply everything else.

Room Tip: We stayed in cabin # 5 and found it excellent.

We had a great time at Beauview. This is a great place to get away from it all and relax by the lake, take out a canoe, sit in the hot-tub..... The accomodations were great, nice and clean and with all of the things you need for self-catering. Gord and Nancy were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay - they were the perfect hosts. The location is also just a few minutes drive from Huntsville, which is a great little town with everything you could need.

This has been my second time at Beauview and I am definitely going to come back again.

We stayed in cottage #3 from June 10-13 and the conditions were great. The water was a bit on the cooler side still but plenty of fun kayaking/canoeing on the lake. The mosquitoes were not that bad at all, even given the rain we had the week before our arrival.

Gord was a great host. We needed a blender and he went out to buy one for us! He went well beyond the call of duty. When there was a brief blackout, he came out to our cottage and gave us information and support right away. He even came out and brought us some old newspapers for the fire pit at night when he saw that we were going to start a fire. I think, for me, what made the stay so amazing was the hard work, dedication and care Gord and Nancy had put in for us.

Bravo on running a wonderful resort.

See you next year.
