I booked this lodging after reading the excellent reviews here, but I have to agree with the review posted by NewAdventures6 posted on September 7,2009.

We had a warm welcome at the front desk, but the double room we had booked was very uninviting when we entered as the heat had not been turned on, It was chilly to say the least, so we were upgraded to a room with a kitchenette which was warmer since it had been occupied the previous evening.

The rooms were clean, but slightly dated. I feel that this was not a good value for the $120 charge per night and the only reason I didn't rate it lower overall is because the grounds provided a very pet friendly overnight stay....lots of room for our dog to run.

Last week we stayed at the Tulip inn for a couple of nights. we read the reviews and in spite of the last review which was not very positive, we decided to check it out as it was conveniently located next to Arrowhead Provincial Park where we wanted to visit. when we arrived we got a very warm welcome by the young woman at the front desk and when we asked to see a few rooms before we decide, she willingly obliged.
we were actually very impressed with the rooms, the amenities, the personal touch and the cleanness. we booked the 2 nights and than we discovered the walking trails and the sandy beach - that was a lovely surprise and we spent a lot of time in the outdoors enjoying the scenery- this is what Muskoka is all about after all- when you go there you expect to be surrounded by nature - and that is exactly how we felt.
we got lots of information and recommendations about the area, restaurants, things to do- from the lady at the front desk, and we felt right at home!
we plan to visit again during the winter as we heard they have a dog-sled package that we would love to try.

I'm not quite sure what all the other reviewers are raving about...the Tulip Inn is adequate - good as a gateway to the local provincial parks - but we were definately not blown away. The rooms were adequate and clean but a little musty and definately worn looking. I think my money would have been better spent at one of the newer hotels in Huntsville - or for maybe $20 more a nice cottage/resort place elsewhere.

My son's lacrosse team stayed at this hotel and had the best time ever. The owners were incredible and the rooms were ideal for families. As a team the parents and kids were able to have a bon fire, swin in the lake, play bocce ball and basketball all in a safe clean environment.

We were looking for a nice place to get away for the long weekend to see the beautiful Canadian foliage.
The most important things for us were: reasonable price, clean room and easy access to the view.
The Inn offered them all. It sits on a river bank and has few walking trails with a wonderful view. It is also very close to the Arrowhead provincial park.
Though it was too cold in the year for us, the Inn has a sandy beach and also offers canoe rentals.
We had a nice small room which was very clean and it had free high speed Internet service.
The crew was very nice warm and professional.
We would definitely come again!

I was staying in Tulip Inn on June 2008. The place is located in a beautiful area. There is a small river. We did a canoe in the river. very quiet and beautiful area. There are many parks and lakes around to the property. The staff were very warm and helpful. The rooms are cleaned. I will defiantly go back!

Our weekend at the Tulip Inn was a great experience. The place is located in a beautiful natural surrounding with walking trails and a private beach. The staff was great and the rooms kept clean. Can't wait to visit it again in summer time.
