I have visited the Briars a few times to experience their spa packages. There are several to choose from and very enjoyable. Pamper yourself !

“Fab festive meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Professional service with an elegant menu. We visited with hubby's colleagues for a team Christmas celebration. I found the meal delightful. Enticing wine list!

“Lunch at Briars”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

Took my mom to Briars for her birthday for lunch and i have to say we were both disappointed with the whole experience. First lunch ends at 1 30 pm after that you don't get to sit in the nice dining room. Second when we first arrived at the 'pub style' room where we were barely greeted.
The waiter had 2 tables going.....once we seated ourselves we waited for a long time to receive the menus. Once we got our menus the waitress brought us some water w/o the lemon in it...which okay maybe they run out...so no problem. The waitress came over to take our order and we repeated it 3 times as she struggled to write it down. There was just 3 of us. She failed to write down the soup so she never did bring it ...she said 'oops i forgot to write that down'..anyways the food was horrible, the service was horrible and the place looks like it needs major facelift.Totally outdated the outdoor patio could have outdoor heaters and have blankets for people who choose to sit outside.....we wanted to have a nice experience at a resort that is suppose to be 'Amazing' and it was not so. Would not go back. First expression is what makes the whole experience go well or not. I give it 2 stars....they should hire some first class servers and give the service accordingly. Hire a chef who knows how to cook . Briars knows how much to charge for accommodations !!! Thumb down!disappointed

“It's all about the atmosphere”

Food was okay, service passable.
The setting is what the Briars is all about.
A little get away not far from Toronto.

“Beautiful grounds and room. Great service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

We enjoyed a 2 night stay. Beautiful building. Old Canadian history. Many relics from the Sibbald collection. Our room was beautifully appointed with antiques. We had a lovely view of the grounds and Lake Simcoe. The meals were delicious and the service was exemplary. The grounds were well cared for and I enjoyed a quiet walk along the forest trails were I spotted a beautiful fox. The kitchen gardens were also a treat. All the herbs were labelled with educational plaques about their medicinal properties. Had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay.
