A gteat place for a girls' weekend away. We stayed at the Birdie Cottage, which was well worth it! Beautiful view of the lake. Very relaxing. Very good service, everyone is warm and friendly. Food is fantastic and plentiful! Spa treatments were luxurious. We loved it so much we're coming back this year and are looking to make this our yearly getaway. A piece of paradise, and so close to Toronto.

We stayed 3 nights at the Briars in August 2009, and returned in December 2009 for 2 nights. We were very impressed with the well-maintained resort, and the Leacock Cottage, in which we resided for both visits. The food was fantastic as well. We were particularly impressed with the children's program and supervised dinners, which gave all of us the opportunity to do what we enjoyed separately, but then rejoin for the rest of the day. The children's program supervisors (Jackie, etc.) were terrific!

This was my first visit to The Briars and was pleasantly surprised. I traveled with a good friend who had stayed at the resort previously and gave it high recommendations. Well she was totally correct.

The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. The service from the front desk to the dining room were above and beyond my expectations.

While there we visited the spa for three glorious treatments, facial, pedicure and massage. The Spa is very clean and well organized. The Estheticians were experienced and well versed in product and service.

I will definitely book again.

My good friend and I spent an overnight at the Briars. We had three spa services on the afternoon of our arrival which were all terrific. The spa is spotlessly clean, they follow excellent hygene procedures and the staff are very competent. We had three excellent meals- both selection and service. The front desk staff are very friendly and always willing to go above and beyond to meet the needs of their guests. I have been to this resort about 10 times and highly recommend to others..alone; with a friend or with your spouse.

Just returned from a weekend at the Briars Inn and Spa, with my adult daughter. We both agreed that we cannot remember when we felt so stress-free on a vacation; it was the best!!
We had a weekend of beautiful meals, interrupted by swimming in the warm indoor pool,( only April, so the outdoor pool was not open) a ride in a horse drawn buggy, drinking coffee by the fire pit outside the dining room, lulled by the sounds of the fountain, walks through the wooded trails, sitting on the shore, the ice on the lake already melting, and visits to the spa for the best facials, pedicures and massages we have ever had!
The staff in the spa, the dining room, and everywhere else in the Briars made us feel so welcome and special, and it was clear the goal for them was whatever we needed.....it was wonderful.
We cannot wait to go back, and I am now planning a weekend with my husband to celebrate our 4th anniversary next month.

I stayed with three other girlfriends for a weekend getaway in two rooms at the hotel. Our package included all our meals and activities, though due to the low season time of year we didn't actually do anything except go for a walk on the trails around the resort property. Simply exploring the buildings and roaming the resort was an adventure for all of us, and there was many places to hide away, read Cottage Life magazine and sip tea.
The food was great, lots of selection and all fresh ingredients, particularly the beet salad with goat cheese. Service was wonderful in the dining room and around the resort, staff members were more than helpful.
All of us enjoyed time at the spa and had excellent massages and pedicures, and the spa was relaxing and comfortable with very professional service.
The pool had adult-only hours so you got to use the hot tub without children around which was a plus, and was open until 11pm which was a real plus for us to stay up and chat. Also, we were able to enjoy lunch on our departure date as well as breakfast! The hardest part was fitting in all the food!
