“noisy Air Conditioner kept us awake all night”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2009

Very clean, very nice, room was modern and fresh. I feel silly complaining because I would give it a 9/10...

HOWEVER... that 1/10 was far too important: TERRIBLE NIGHT'S SLEEP...the air conditioner cranked on and off all night long! Because it was hot (August in Ontario!) they have a "note" taped to the air conditioner saying that it will only run at high for 30 minutes. Then it shuts itself off!!! So we spent the whole night listening to it kick in, while we were sweating hot, then it would finally cool down and BOOM, shut off again. This scenario went on all night right beside our bed. We had the worst night's sleep.

If you are staying during weather that won't require air conditioning I would absolutely recommend it. I would consider going again in the fall when we like to do the wine tours. But I will NEVER stay here in the summer ever again.

Otherwise it's a great place to stay. Well worth our money... $149 Canadian, included breakfast for 2 down at the Restaurant on the Twenty.

Seems strange saying I would recommend it, but I would... just NOT in the heat of the summer when you will need the air conditioning.

My husband and I just got back from two nights at the Jordan House. We were in Jordan for a friend's wedding, which took place a ten minute walk down the street at the Inn on the Twenty so the Jordan House was very conveniently located. The room was adequate for what we needed- clean and quite spacious. However, it did not seem worth 180 dollars a night. Also we were a little frustrated that when we arrived to check in at 8:30 pm there was next to no parking in the lot because so many people were at the next door pub, and we also had to walk 10 minutes down the street and ten minutes back to check in at the inn on the twenty because no one was at the jordan house desk.

We just returned from an overnight visit to Wine Country in SOuthern Ontario. We booked what we thought would be a quaint hotel with character. The main complaint is that it wasn't worth the money we paid $160.00 per night plus tax. Here is a list of things we thought were positive.
* clean
* close walk to the village (5 minutes)
* tavern/restaurant attached (okay food)
* polite friendly staff
* nice cozy bathrobes

Here is a list of things we thought they could improve upon:
* higher quality sheets and pillowcases (close to hospital grade in feel)
* have a duvet even if it is synthetic. The bed had an average sheet and a thin bed cover (no extra blanket in the room)
* higher quality tea (average Red Rose)
* higher quality towels
* better lighting in washroom and beside bed
* decor more in keeping with the "wine country" idea. It appears the rooms have been updated and redecorated and not sure why they chose a modern theme with pictures of seashells, etc.
* no iron or ironing board in room

Again, this hotel wasn't bad but it wasn't worth the money spent. initially it felt like a B&B when we went to the main lobby (you get a key for the outside door because the front desk closes at 9:00 pm) however once we got into the room it wasn't anything special and lacks the basic upgrades that you receive in a comparable room at any Holiday Inn, Marriott, etc.

I would definitely take a pass on this hotel and look for a B&B for the same price.
