After driving from the sault we stopped here for the night. We were pleasantly surprised by the cute and coziness of this place. :-) there was a cute quote on the wall.. The owner was working the front desk that night and you could tell she cared about you and her place. I recommend staying here for a night.
Happy and safe travels!

Recently renovated mom and pop motel that is reasonably priced. Very nice rooms and bathroom, but small. With a large flat screen TV on the wall, a sofa, and coffee table, the room is a little cramped. The room also has a writing desk, but does not have a desk lamp. WiFi was fast and dependable. The pictures of the other reviewer's are a good representation of the rooms. The room also had a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The motel does not have a continental breakfast, but a good breakfast restaurant is just across the street.
Unless you park behind the motel, parking is limited. You have to back out onto the busy main street when leaving the parking lot. Since the motel is right adjacent to the street, you hear the traffic noise.
Most of the major dinner restaurants are in the downtown area, about 1 mile from the motel.

Older looking two level motel located on a busy city street. The rooms (about 224 sq ft) are fully renovated along with quality linen. The standard here is one of the best that we have seen in this category. The owner quickly made us feel welcome. Busy little town but the traffic does slow down at nite. We were able to park in front which made it handy but awkward to back out. They also have parking in back. A restaurant is located near by. It was a bit hard to find due to its funny address. GPS N49 45 846 W94 28 689 Just up the street from a chain motel.

This motel is a gem compared to the numerous hotel chains in Kenora, at half the price! Surprisingly modern decor on the inside. We were able to get the last room available after searching for a room in this busy vacation town, and we were so happy to have found it! Would definitely stay again.

I can not say enough wonderful things about the Selah Motel. Except do NOT let the looks of the outside of the building misrepresent the amazing work that has been done to the inside. The rooms were lovely and the front desk staff were so helpful. I know that when our family stayed there they were still in the process of remodeling more of the motel. I had hoped to stay again this summer BUT found out the rooms are booked up for the entire summer. Will be sure to book our rooms early for our next summer vacation while in Kenora!!! Wonderful place and the rooms are truly gems!!!

We were greeted by the ownerJeannie who was happy and helpfull to show us two room options.
The motel is the older well established type in appreaence from the road, but inside the rooms are fully renovated and look and feel like new..
very clean rooms and bathrooms, good quality bed lined, pillows and towels..
no pool, no breakfast....large flat screen TV, coffee maker, fridge, microwave...
We were happy with the stay at this motel.... some noise from upstairs room, but no enough to complain about. It is close to the main road but with good quality windows and doors not much road noise to worry about...airconditioned and heating is good..

Well...decaf in the room would be nice.
This room has everything; fridge, microwave, coffee maker, work area, double bed, queen size sofa, 4 piece bath and a 46" LCD TV.
What more could you want?
AND the front desk staff are SUPER friendly.
