Very nice stay at this motel. We do not usually stay in this hotel class but were pleasantly surprised by a very clean, comfortable room with very friendly staff and a completely non-smoking environment. Did not try the restaurant.

Had to stay one night because of a wedding in the area. We were given a room at ground level (106) that is situated parallel with a tiled corridor that runs from the back end of the property where one parks the car to the lobby. One can hear every high heel clickety-clacking through the less than sound-proofed wall as people come and go as well as every sound emanating from the hotel lobby. They close the back door at midnight and re-open it at 6am so unless those are your sleeping hours do not stay in this room. We asked to be moved as we returned from our wedding at 9pm and wanted to be asleep by 10pm so that we could have an early start the next day for our long drive home. The noise was driving us nuts. Ironically there was a wedding also being celebrated at the hotel. At first we were informed that the hotel was full, but eventually we were moved to a quieter room (102) further down the same hall. We then had to contend with some of the wedding party's children racing each other down the hallway and in the hallway above us. We remedied the situation by lying in wait for them as they ran past and pouncing in their path. We told them we would seek out their parents, the hotel's manager and the police if need be to complain about them if they did not stop running. They stopped. We managed to fall asleep after 10pm but woke up and could hear people chatting at around 1.30am. We eventually went back to sleep. In the morning the receptionist (different to the one that checked us in) told us that we should have been given an upstairs room. I replied that no one should be given a ground level room under any circumstances as the construction was cheap and the soundproofing non-existent.

Stayed there will visiting family. Great clean rooms, Great staff who were poliet and very friendly. Whenever they pass you in the hall or while you are coming and going they say hi how are you, are you enjoying your stay etc.
Nicely decorated rooms. The rooms are spacey and the decor is so nice I loved the colours. The bed was comfy, I did not have a problem sleeping at all. The room was spotless and very clean.
Great dinning experience, food was amazing. Waitress we had was amazing, she interacted with my child who ended up loving the waitress and playing with her whenever she passed our table. Food was prompt and very delicous.
I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
I really enjoyed staying there and when I visit again I will stay there again.
Thank you Best Western for a great experience

Our bill included restaurant meals that we didn't have. When we brought this to the attention of the unfriendly, un-smiling, short, desk clerk, she said not a word but disappeared for some time, then came back with another employee who was commenting to her that it was a young couple with a young child (i.e., not us). The clerk then adjusted the bill without a word of apology or a smile. Also the complimentary coffee was the most bitter, vile liquid imaginable. And the room cost $149 + tax.

Spent the night here for a company christmas party. TERRIBLE front desk service from an unfriendly rude woman. The new soap DISPENSERS in the shower with cheap liquid soap in the shampoo and soap dispensers are terrible. If i wanted to wash in cheap liquid hand soap i would, i dont want to, but i had to here. ALL the cups in this room were plastic or styrofoam. cheap coffee, cheap towels, cheap scratchy sheets....the list goes on.....

EVERYTHING in this room SCREAMS that the inn is cutting corners. As a guest I do not like this at all, im paying for things like bars of soap, fluffy towels and GLASS glasses, give them to me.

horrible cheap place that needs to think about how they treat guests.

We've stayed here several times. We visit the Bruce-Grey region of Southern Ontario every summer. Favorite attractions include beaches, lighthouses, Niagara Escarpment scenery, quaint shops, great restaurants and the Kincardine Scottish pipe band. The Governors Inn is not quite a five-star resort and comes up short on a few amenities. For example, there is no sauna or indoor pool; and the restaurant is pretty good but not spectacular. However, a great beach and a wide variety of great eateries -- from fast food to exquisite dining -- are within a mile radius. The Governors Inn is without a doubt the best place to stay in Kincardine. This is also one of only two clean, comfortable and modern hotel/motor inn properties between Grand Bend and Owen Sound. A word of caution: If you want to stay there during the summer, especially on weekends, book your reservation up to a year in advance.
