“Great place for a walk”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

Any time of year is a great time to go for a walk in Victoria park. Beautiful homes surround the park. Very romantic to meander over the bridges.

“The Heart of the City”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

For more than 40 years now, I have visited this truly great park. My first experience was skating/tripping/slipping on the ice with friends Faye and Les. The park was a short walk from their apartment and the day was the first of hundreds we'd have at the park. Whether it was seeing the Christmas lighting or the outdoor live performances of the "Greatest Story Ever Told" during the winter season or attending one of the many festivals during the summer months, our time in Victoria Park was well spent. Such events as the Remembrance Day Services, International Children's Festival, SunFest and Home County Folk Festival always brought our family and friends just a little bit closer. It's ironic that someone living in a rural community, waking up to the sight of a pasture and bush/woods outside my bedroom window, would go into the city to find relaxation. Of course, I'm not the only one to express this view. Ask the proud dog owner parading her/his leashed companion through the park or the young couple walking their toddler, also leashed, why they enjoy this treasure. Victoria Park has been around for more than 100 years. It's not flashy, nor hip nor ultra modern. It's one of the few places still around that has remained a constant source of connection to a simpler, more "human", lifestyle. Next time you're in London, take a 15 minute stroll through the park. If you time it just right, you'll hear the church bells and just for a moment ...

“Recently "Renovated"”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

Victoria park recently got a huge overhaul, when the artificial lake water was drained and then re-filled to make it look better. The grounds surrounding the lake are beautiful, there are trails, gazebos, swans and playgrounds for kids. In the summer, the KW Multicultural Festival as well as the RibFest are both here. It is quite a big place and there is a huge field where one can play Frisbee. On the lake, there is a small pub called The Boathouse that has daily live music and in the summer a patio overlooking the lake.

“Simply splendid, lovely nature at its best!”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Located near downtown Kitchener. A simple jewel where a lot of community events happen throughout the year. Whether it is a stroll in the park with lovely paths, bridges and water, lovely trees and beautiful houses surrounding or quiet escape from a busy day life, this a place to be. I especially enjoy the changing colors of the leaves in fall, simply beautiful.

“Few places to sit, dirty, and smelly”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

It is not a family friendly place. Tjhere were few, clean places to sit, very little trash removal opportunities and it smelled.
