“Exactly what a B&B should be.”

I really enjoy staying with Amanda and Harald. The inn is very comfortable and breakfast is always fabulous! I stay here for business from time to time and they are always quite accomodating for my needs. I can definitely recommend this as the place to stay in KW. It sure beats the big hotels on comfort and it actually costs less.

Hi Chris,
Yes, it is always a pleasure to have you stay with us. I always enjoy our morning conversations and get to learn of stuff like "How to make Maple Syrup" :^) See you soon, Amanda

We travel to Kitchener to visit family and we always look forward to staying at The Frederick Street Inn. We have stayed in 2 different rooms and the accommodations are wonderful! Our hosts always give us great advice for places to eat at and places to shop in the area. From bringing our baby there, we can say that they are very child friendly. By the way, we LOVE the breakfasts that they serve! Thank you for making us feel so comfortable and cared for when we stay at the Frederick Street Inn! We look forward to staying there again!

I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay, and that you commented on your dinner service. As you know this is a new service here at the Inn, and so it is wonderful to have some feedback.
We would love to see you come back.
See you then,
Amanda

We travelled to Kitchener to visit the Kriskindle Market and decided to stay close at a Bed and Breakfast. Fortunately for us we found the Frederick Street Inn on the internet and booked a room with a shared bath.
Believe me when I say we were not disapointed. We were met at the door by our hostess, Amanda, and were given a tour of this amazing property.
The finishing details of the home is breathtaking, and the individual rooms were made up picture-postcard.
Our room was ready, even though we arrived early, and so we settled in to unpack for the night. Shortly thereafter we walked to City Hall where the market was held, within easy walking distance of everything downtown Kitchener!
We came back several hours later to warm cookies and hot tea, how lovely! After a brief rest on an excellent bed; quite firm and made-up with quality linens, we walked to The Three Kretans for a delicious meal and once back in our room we were pleasantly surprised to find "turn down service" complete with a chocolate on our pillow. Seriously? Who does that in this day and age?
We spent some time in the huge, warm and totally inviting B&B den, made up in Christmas decorations with a cozy fireplace blazing, then chose a DVD from their selection and retreated to our room for a private viewing.
In the morning we had our breakfast brought to our table by our host, Harald, a sumptuous waffle and bacon combo cooked by his charming wife Amanda.
There is no doubt in my mind I would strongly recommend this fine establishment to all fellow travellers and we ourselves will return to the Frederick Street Inn very soon indeed!

Room Tip: The shared bath rooms are an excellent choice for value, and the shared bath is huge and tastefully...

Hello. I am so happy you enjoyed the little touches. (I really think those through, you know) It seems for those reading reviews that the secret of the bedwarmers is out. Alas. I love to have a few surprises. Our very best to you both this season. Frohe Weihnachten. Hope Santa is good to you both, Amanda & Harald

I stayed on business and being able to walk to the courthouse was a dream because there is scarce downtown parking. Was in the Baird room - good desk for working, very comfy bed, quiet, spacious. Loved the enormous freestanding bath and the heated bathroom floor. The hosts are gracious and helpful, and there if you need them . Because they don't live on-site it feels even more comfortable going to the living room for some tea or to sit. A refrigerator for guest use was great for packing my lunches and snacks. Excellent breakfasts - not too rich, which I prefer. I will definitely return.

Room Tip: Enjoyed the Baird room. Fabulous bathtub.

We stayed at the Frederick Street Inn for 3 nights recently. It was our first time and we were very comfortable and pleased with the accommodations. The room was spacious with good seating area for using your laptop. Bed was comfortable and warm as there are individual heating pads under the mattress for each side of the bed. I found it too warm for me but it would be very welcome in the middle of winter. The ensuite bathroom had a gorgeous new clawfoot jacuzzi tub with rain showerhead. The tile floor was heated as well. One word of caution to those who have mobilitty issues - the tub is quite deep and there was no handrail for support. My husband and I are agile but we were very cautious as the tub can be quite slippery. The owners pay attention to detail which is very nice and welcoming. Our bed was turned down with a personal choclate put on each pillow. Nice touch. We had brought a bottle of wine and that evening two wine glasses miraculously appeared on the desk. Nice touch.

The room was very quiet and dark at night which we love. Breakfasts were delicious and the hosts are very engaging and friendly. We enjoyed speaking with them about running a bed and breakfast as we have recently opened our doors as a bed and breakfast and have no experience whatsoever. I enjoyed listening to their stories about renovating their home. It was nice to have the ability to make a cup of tea in the evening or use the small frig for drinks which was located in the public area. All in all, a very nice stay. Thank you Harald and Amanda. By the way, Harald makes lovely pottery which can be purchased on site.

Room Tip: Ask if room is upstairs or downstairs.

Vegan breakfasts were 100%! Owners are flexible, helpful, engaging personalities who will pick you up at the airport, train and bus station. Accommodations are comfortable, and the bathrooms are special. They spent 15 months completely renovating it a few years ago. Our 4 night stay was perfect for our needs, felt like we were at home. Owners do not stay overnight, however they are there when you need them in the morning and a phone call away, or a 3 minute drive away if an emergency. Lots of space in the evening in the luxurious living room without having to chat with the owners, if you want to be quiet and read while your partner sleeps.

Room Tip: Having your own bathroom costs a little more, however sharing was not a problem. Shared bathroom is...

I really appreciate your comments on the vegan breakfasts. I had to learn in order to pull off 4 days of vegan diet. (a very good example of how each person we meet makes us wiser) It was wonderful to have your family here, and thanks for your kindness.
