“Lovely bit of history right in town.”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

Both our children became Canadian citizens at Woodside. They have a Canada Day citizenship ceremony that should be experienced at least once in your lifetime - even if you are already a citizen. Makes your heart beat a little more proudly and it really is a lovely location.

“A Lost Gem”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

I love this National Historic Site, the Victorian Kitchener Home of Mackenzie King's family.
SHAME on the Present Harper Government for allowing it to be closed.
The knowledgeable interpreters, the beautiful furniture and artifacts, and the fantastic interactive programs were wonderful. On July 1, great Canada Day parties were held on the lawn with memorable ceremonies to welcome New Citizens to be part of the Canadian Mosaic and old to renew their commitment to our country.
Spend the money and get this treasure reopened.

“I have always wanted to go here, but....”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

but from what I've heard in the news, it's closed due to basement flooding from poor maintenance and lots of mould there now. Would be really nice to be able to visit.

“House is closed but grounds are still nice”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

Woodside has a nice rustic charm to it and the surrounding parkland is very beautiful. I suspect its a popular place for social gatherings and photography. Its a shame the house isn’t open at the moment, undergoing some repairs I believe, but still well worth seeing the exterior and enjoying a bit of nature. The fall colours were terrific when I visited in early October. Hurry and you might still be able to catch a glimpse of them.

“Canada's Prime Minister”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

The home of Canada' a past Prime Minister which sits on beautiful landscape. It houses artifacts and lets you see what an elegant home in the region once was. It is a favourite for school tours and a great rainy day location to learn from.
