The home of Canada' a past Prime Minister which sits on beautiful landscape. It houses artifacts and lets you see what an elegant home in the region once was. It is a favourite for school tours and a great rainy day location to learn from.

Conveniently located off of highway 85 expressway. Nice way to spend a little time to learn about McKenzie King and his family. Costume period Canada Parks staff bring the house to life. Wander the grounds and play a game of lawn checkers with your partner or your children. Shelters available to have a picnic. Admission is free with a Canada's park pass. Plenty of free parking.

I've been visiting with my family for the last several years. It's a beautifully restored period home at all times of the year. Christmas is exceptionally lovely, though. You can smell homemade spice cookies and hot apple cider. You can even have a bit to drink and nibble! The Christmas tree in the parlor is amazing. Decorated with popcorn garland and candles-very Victorian. It's an annual event for us! An amazing deal deal for the price you pay.
I don't know if they are still hosting their annual Christmas tea but a friend brought me on year as
a holiday gift. It was a great event with tasty nibbles and live Christmas music. If you can get there you won't be disappointed by the relaxing Victorian atmosphere!

A nice place to learn and see history in the house of William Lyon Mackenzie King.I like the fact that they decorate this period house for Holiday occassions to give you a sense of how things were in By-gone days.
