An early Friday evening in Newmarket is the last place you would expect to find a full restaurant, but that was the case here. Every table had a "reserved" sign on it, and the waitress said she expected to have "three turnovers" on each table.
Nevertheless they seated my wife and me with the proviso that after an hour we would have to give way to the reservation. Not surprisingly the service was swift and attentive. In no time our starters arrived - a garden salad and home-made mushroom soup.
Our entrees were the beef goulash and weinerschnitzel. Original yet traditional-feeling recipes with huge portions for the hearty appetite.
All around us were happy diners, abuzz with the vibrant atmosphere of the place. A few couples were regretfully turned away at the door as the clock neared 6:30.
Dinner for two with wine for less than $60 - certainly a winning combination. No wonder the place was packed.

While visiting my son, who has recently moved to Newmarket, we were fortunate enoough to get a table at this excellent family run restaurant. Portions were huge and the food was phenomenal! The service was prompt and friendly! Highly recommended!

Same as Mama used to make. Great place with the most authentic Hungarian food this side of the Danube. The soups are the best I've ever had in a restaurant. We have been there many times and cant stop. Its a problem.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary last night here. The food was absolutely delicious. The service, lighting, decor and ambience were perfect. I would not change a thing. Newmarket is lucky to have this gem. We will most definately be back. Priced right. Good Luck (Judy)
