To start off, I was not in any way disappointed with the room or the service at Glenn-Burney. The food from the kitchen was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. It just so happened that when my wife and I visited the lodge, there were just a lot of things happening.

On the one hand, there was a lot of construction happening on the beach. The dock was being lengthened and a bar was being built. It lent to the hope that this place would one day be great, but we were unable to experience much of the lakeside atmosphere. Thankfully the, Parry Sound is not too far away, and being familiar with the town, my wife and I got to visit some shops that we frequent often.

On the other hand, the room was fantastic. It had a rustic chic look that was modern and comfortable. Except for the old advertisement poster for Parry Sound's Festival of the Sound that seemed at odds with the rest of the decor, is was well put together. Especially the screened in balcony where we ate breakfast and had coffee.

So, the combination of great food (which I reviewed elsewhere), great views, a great room, and the expectation of a great waterfront when construction is completed, Glenn-Burney Lodge offers the total package in for a relaxing retreat. I would definitely visit again!

My stay was lovely, thanks in large part to Lois at the front desk, who was amazing.

Unfortunately, the kitchen was closed on the night I was there; disappointing as I had heard so much about the great restaurant. The restaurant also opened late in the morning (8:30), which was too late for me, so Lois kindly offered to bring food for me and leave it in the fridge, which was much appreciated.

The room was lovely - like a very nice cottage. There is lots of rustic charm, and it was very relaxing. I only wish my stay was longer so I could have enjoyed the screened-in porch.

When we arrived at Glenn Burney Lodge, we were greeted by lovely staff that were happy to help with our every need. We sat down for dinner in the spectacular dining room with a lovely view of Georgian Bay. The dining room is adorned with a large totem pole and unique art work. Plus the walls were decorated with vintage guitars, which was a lovely touch. Our food was absoloutly delicious and we ate in the lodge every night. The menu ranged from house smoked ribs to Georgian Bay trout and pickerel. This was our first time here and the quality of the food was amazing, and the staff was very helpful with reccomending wines to accompany our meal choices from their extensive wine list. Our room was clean, comfortable, and the duvets were divine. Every night in front of the lodge, there was a large bonfire lit and one night we watched a movie in the screened in porch on a large projector and screen. I will definitely be back and i have reccomended it to all of my friends!

Room Tip: the lodge offers queen rooms, double bed rooms, and two cabins with two bedrooms.

Spent a wonderful week at the Glenn Burney relaxing and refuelling. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the service is wonderful, the food is divine and miraculously affordable, and the atmosphere is unmatched. You really feel at home curled up with a book in front of the fireplace, and there are beautiful docks for when you want to hang out under the sun or go for a swim. Guitar enthusiasts, beware.. you may never leave once you set eyes on the collection in the main lodge. And if you fancy a boat or canoe ride, they offer that too! A really marvellous setting for those of us that appreciate true quality and attention to detail, and all in a warm and inviting setting. This place is by far the best spot in the Parry Sound area and I will definitely be back.

Room Tip: The detached cabins are well worth the little bit extra, as you have your own private space in the w...

This was an amazing experience. We went to the Glenn Burney Lodge for dinner as we heard so much about the eclectic interior - the art, wood carvings, guitar collection, amazing fireplace - and were blown away by the excellent quality of food and service. Try the smoked ribs and the Indian Candy which is smoke, cured salmon baked in maple syrup - wow. The fish is prepared perfectly, too. Our wine was chosen by their Sommelier and the list is very affordable. The cabin we stayed overlooked Georgian Bay, was fresh and yet rustic at the same time. All the staff are super friendly. I like the close proximity to Parry Sound and all the amenities. This is a perfect place for boat enthusiasts, too. Love it at Glenn Burney Lodge.

Room Tip: Theh cottage on the hill is quiet and very large.

A lovely lakeside lodge with an excellent wine list and dining room (chefs from BC's noted Sooke Harbour Inn) overlooking a small Georgian Bay marina. The menu is (very much) beyond anything else you would find in the area (Parry Sound), so a perfect place to drop in for dinner even if you're not staying over.

The staff, the overall vibe, at Glenn Burney is charming, laid back and cool. The city trained staff, who have worked at some of Toronto's better restaurants, understand real 'service'. Decor is rustic, eclectic and funky, like a cottage owned by a cool friend.

Rooms are simple but sweet, hardwood floors and white linens, and they all come with verandas, fast wifi, flat-screens/cable TV, and a good selection of DVDs to borrow. Also, a mini fridge, microwave and kettle so you can tuck away a few supplies—wine, beer, snacks—if you like.

Room Tip: Book one of the stand alone cabins, a little further off the lodge, like Cabin 2.

Set on a wooded hillside overlooking the water, the lodge is a delightful rustic retreat. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, a perfect place for a weekend getaway. The staff were perfect hosts, warm, friendly and helpful, even suggesting a tour of the region by air which was a highlight of our weekend. In the late afternoon they made a fire in the firepit, adding the perfect touch to the rustic setting.

The restaurant is fantastic with a stunning view of the sunset over the bay. We were there over the Thanksgiving weekend, and the fall colours were brilliant. A visit to the Glenn Burney Lodge could easily become a Thanksgiving tradition.
