Whether you just want a coffee or a full lunch, the Mad Hatter is a unique place to go in Parry Sound. Very friendly staff and good food. Everything from stick-to-the-ribs chili to vegetarian wraps for great prices.

You have to try their butter tarts! The cafe itself has a hippie kind of charm. A must visit when in Parry Sound. Sorry didn't try anything else but the place was busy so must be a hot spot

This is a busy place - be prepared to line up to order. The selection of wraps, sandwiches pastries is very good. Satisfying portions (one between 2 might work if you're not famished). They have gluten free options and the variety of coffees is large. It's a fun place to eat too.

When wandering around Parry Sound you may want to stop in here for a sandwich. Simple fare but the real treat is being transported back to the 60's! A very interesting place!

Soup, sandwiches, pasteries, and gourmet coffees. The food is quite good, the wide variety of sandwiches can be had on artisan breads, and the soups are homemade. These are my usual lunch order, but fresh pastries are also presented.

The real deal though, is the atmosphere. One wall is dedicated to bookshelves filled with an eclectic collection of weird, strange, and fairly normal reading material. Maybe it's where my eyes get stuck, but occult/new age topics seem to prevail. The full front window is full of old..."collectibles"...and it's all housed in a very old store, with worn plank floors, and decor to match. And then there is the proprietor, resembling a cleaned up beach comber from Tofino, he easily befriends customers with a wicked sense of wit that has often had us chuckling as we depart. Despite the wealth of reading material, we usually spend our meal watching the proprietor interact with customers, an amusing diversion, as we have never found the cafe empty. My only wish is that a fresh meat (turkey, chicken, beef) filling was offered, rather than usual nitrate laced "deli" meats. My wife usually gest a vegetarian sandwich which she says is "quite tasty".
