Very clean cottage, with pretty much everything provided. There are so many things I brought I didn't need too. They even had board games. Beautiful lake & grounds, and being so close to Parry Sound was ideal.
Mike was very kind & helpful. If we had a problem he was right there. I am pretty sure any bad reviews came from the Yahoo type.
You can tell that Mike takes great pride in his place.

This was our 8th visit to Mill Lake. What a relaxing resort. Accommodations have always been as expected, clean and well kept. We have stayed in different cottages at the resort depending on how many family members were able to come. The MacLeans were always gracious and very well informed with activities in the surrounding area. We would highly recommend this vacation spot, especially if you are looking for a serene get away in the heart of Ontario.

This is a beautiful property along the shore, with sufficiently-appointed cottages. It should have been a relaxing and fun weekend, were it not for the owner being an inflexible watchdog over our group for the duration of our short weekend stay. Despite having paid for 2 nights, I left after 1, no longer desiring to endure:
• another night in an old, uncomfortable, squeaky bed in a room that felt like a dry sauna — upon my arrival on a warm June Friday night, the temperature on the thermostat was set to a balmy 90° Farenheit.
• the owner whose attempt at warm hospitality only thinly veiled his paranoia towards our group, making us feel constantly monitored with his check-ins.
• unsavoury conditions. While linens and bath towels were provided, hand soap in the washrooms was not. Also, bugs were seen crawling all over the kitchen counter at all hours of the day despite there not being a speck of food to be found on its surface.

I really wish that this review was more favourable. Unfortunately, it was the overall experience and the lack of hospitality provided that devalues this resort. The paranoid lurking of the owner prevented us from truly relaxing and enjoying the beautiful property. His attitude towards our group seemed to indicate that he was prejudiced against us, simply because we were a rather sizable group of people (20+), and most of his efforts seemed to be concentrated on ensuring we weren't there to run amok and destroy his property. For this, I was deeply insulted as a paying guest/customer, among a group of adults that has been very well received at other establishments in the last several years.

First off I can not Thank Mike for his great warmth and kindless that he showed my family and I. From the time we got there to the time we left, we were never so happy to be there. We were totally relaxed and there was so much for all of us to do - whether it was swimming, the park, paddle boats, etc. We stayed at the Shoreline, it was very well kept with every utensile you can think of - they had available. The smell of the linen and towels was amazing - so clean and fresh.

We met some very nice families, not only they're first time but 3rd time visiting, they too loved it.

I was very pleased, we had mentioned to Mike that our propane tank was empty and no rush to replace it as it was early afternoon, not even 5 mins later he replaced the tank with no hesitation. Our recycling was emptied 2wice in 1 week, he raked the beaches so they remained clean for the kids to play and of course his wife Jane made the flowers beautful by watering and not to forget to ask how you were doing to just a quick "Hi" as she passed by.

The last night we were at Mill Lake Mike took us out on a boat ride, this would be my daughters first boat ride. We were all so very excited and much appreciated that he took the time to show us all around the lake and the different cottages - not to mention he was so kind to do a rescue while we were sightseeing. A man whos motor broke was trying to paddle back to his home and threw out his back, but Mike was more than willing to stop - throw out a line and make sure he got home safe.

I can't thank you enough Mike and Jane for a great vacation.

First vacation in a 11 years - couldn't ask for a better trip. We will be back next year but for 2 weeks this time!!

Mike and Jane are wonderful hosts - always available to help with any requests or needs. This was our 4th year there with our 2 kids (aged 9 and 12), sister and brother-in-law. We've stayed at various cottage resorts over the past 20 years and keep coming back to Mill Lake Cottage Resort. It's comforting to know that when we arrive the cottage will be clean and the kitchen well-stocked with everything we need to cook. Love having clean towels and sheets ready for the week and especially love having the propane BBQ on the deck. The kids LOVE all the ammenities included....the kayaks, row boats, paddle boats, sports equipment and practically live on the slide in the water. We'd definitely recommend this place to other people without hesitation.
