“Fantastic Girls Get Together”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

After an afternoon of shopping, we headed to the Melting Pot for a much need glass of their great wine selection and a relaxing dinner. We were greeted warmly as soon as we entered and it just got better from there. Our assigned sever (Jordene who I would definately recommend) was both friendly, funny and extremely knowledgable as she took us through the somewhat complicated menu. In the end and based soley on Jordene's recommendations, the 6 of us decided. Her recommendations were spot on. Our meal was both plentiful and excellent. Both the spinach and Brie/Bacon cheese dips were fantastic as well as our courses that followed. The on site manager, Rama came to our table to inquire if everything was fine which was nice to see. Most times your just a number on a guest cheque. Although a bit pricey, we all agreed that it was well worth it and will be returning.

“Terrible food, bitter, unfriendly staff”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

Liked the atmosphere and the concept here. Our group was a bit concerned when we arrived because there were very few people here, which is never a good sign. I must admit, our group was a bit loud, but we weren't rude. The staff were not nice to us. The food was overpriced and not special at all. Everything seemed pre packaged, even the cheese came out of a bag, not freshly shredded or cut. Would never go here again.

“Must have experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

It was my first time at Melting Pot with my girlfriend, it is a must have experience!

In short, fondue is like a dessert hot pot, where you dip fruits, brownies, cheese cake etc into a hot pot with chocolate or cheese with a winebase! There was also a french style entree hot pot with a delicious wine based soup and sauces. The food is exotic and delicious. They gave us a couple's seat in a very romantic atomosphere.

Our waitress was also very nice and polite, patiently introduced the food to us and taught us how to use the melting pot. The manager also came to ask us if we enjoyed our food and he made sure he remembered our name from the reservation.

The only slight downside was the price, slighly pricy but totally worth it if you have never been there. I would recommend this place to anyone that loves sweets!

“a wonderful Surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

My husband and I wanted something different for dinner Sunday 14th October so we decided to try The Melting Pot located at 125-135 York Blvd Richmond Hill. What could be more inviting than a lovely fondue on a miserable, damp rainy Sunday night? Having been to a melting Pot in Michigan and having had a faily good experience, we thought that we would give this location a try. From the minute we stepped into the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised. We were given a warm welcome and taken to a secluded table and given a menu with the different dinner options. We were then greeted by the loveliest server who made no bones about making our visit a wonderful dinning experience. We requested another table being that we didn't want to be so secluded, no problem plus we were thrilled when she, Robyn (our server, who I especially named because people should request her service when making a reservation) was still going to serve us at our new seating. Robyn's enthusiasm was contagious and her recommendations right on the money. To sum it up, EVERTHING was delicious and it was way beyond our dinner in Michigan. Chef Corbin Tomaszeski has obviously made a point of training and letting the staff know that customer is king and he has upgraded the quality of the sauces and the yummy chocolate fondue. We each enjoyed delicious salads, a meat/seafood/veggies fondue and the chocolate fondue which was orgasmic!! Would we return? You bet!! We can't wait. A bit on the pricey side but worth every penny. Still salivating :)

“Fun place, but some technical problems with the fondues”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

I was part of a group of 7 for lunch. We had three courses, with two different fondue pots for the table.

Except for the dessert course, I found that the quality of the fondue seriously suffered when we were about half way through the course, due to evaporation. The cheese got so stiff that it was nearly undippable, and the broth for the meat got so salty that it was nearly inedible. I think it would be a good idea to top the fondue up with hot water part way through the course.

I thought it was a bit comical that the server told us the number of minutes to cook each type of meat. Do they think we will get out our watches to time it? It would be much more useful to have a couple of clocks embedded in the table top, or even better, a few timers.

On the plus side, the service was excellent. The server was extremely knowledgeable.

The greenish "curry" sauce for the meat course was by far the best thing during the whole lunch. Brilliant. Not in-your-face curry-y like I was expecting, but still, absolutely delicious.
